i first thought the game saved every player ratings, so u could check out the players after years of playing and see their merits, average rating, average goal rating, meters ran etc.

It probably indicates his success rates for passing, dribbling and shooting weren't close enough to 100%. I think those success rates are as important as the overall total of successful passes, dribbling and goals.

I don't check that often, but I'm pretty sure I've never got a 10.

I do remember looking at a 9.5 rating, but ny brother 'accidentally' returned to the main menu.

I got a 10 with nedved, he scored a hatrick against his former club, juventus...in my master league, i scored 7 goals in one match against my mate with RVN and only got 8.5

i think the level tat u play matters alot. i always play 5 stars and the best was only a 9.0

I've only ever had a 9.5. I presumed that that was the highest you could get.

I think the lowest i've ever seen is 2.5.

Finally managed it last week without trying:

This was for a 10 minute 5* ML match which I won 4-1.
Henry scored 3 and assisted on the other.
BTW, I wasn't intending to get a good rating, it just happened.

I've got a 10 now finally but ive played so many class matches with players and ended up with random stats of 9.0 or even 8.0 after bagging 4 goals+ in 5 min matches
I think once a player gets over a hatrick you can't deny he's gotta get a rating of 10 no matter what way he played
