Ooh, it's not going to be pretty fella! If you want a game that you can 'get' after ten days of playing or so, get FIFA!

If you want a game that you are still learning things every day, even months after playing, and even then you still can't just 'beat' the opposition when you feel like it, then PES is for you. It certainly isn't for the feint hearted this year Surgon.

I spent months on the demo's before I could beat Napoli for example 3 games out of 5! So the learning curve for this game is steep.

Do you watch football a lot Surgon?

The reason why I ask is that many principles of PES are reflected from real life. Don't dive in tackles when defending, play the ball about, it isn't always about going forward, it is about creating space.

I would possibly start at a lowish level, maybe the one below professional or something and set assists to 3 bar. That way you can start playing some nice football from the word go.

PES is the more rewarding of the two sports titles but you really have to put the hours in dude!

The one below professional? Geez, that'll be to hard for a beginner. I suggest he starts as Amateur or Beginner and after he is consistently winning games, he should then move up the next level. Sometimes even I don't win on regular because of the scripts and poor shooting. Or he could simply do on training where he practises each aspect of the game and then have mini matches with the CPU on there like I did

I beg your pardon?
Well said techboy, I would just say put it on easy until you are comfortable hammering a bad team by 5 or more goals, get warmed up to the buttons and stuff, see what you can do, then put it up a difficulty level, gradually working towards Superstar.
But like the man said, it takes hours of playing to see and try all the little nuances of the game.

Just play the damn game, feints and tricks are hardly needed to succeed. It just make you look fancy while winning.
