50Hz/60Hz?

Mike, to me it sounds that it is 60Hz PAL like in Soul Calibur 2 case. On my TV set it says that it is 50/60Hz PAL compatabile, and I have never experienced ANY probles by running games in 60Hz mode, all are FULL colour.
I have to mention that I use normal AV cable...

On the other hand, some people say that game is black and white which leads me to conclusion that it is NTSC...
I don't know what would happen if you run 60Hz PAL on 50Hz PAL ONLY TV sets (ones that don't support 60Hz mode)!!!

Logically it should just flicker but it should be in colour... if it's 60Hz PAL in PES3?!

I personally doubt that European version of the game has NTSC option...

what is the difference

LFC,
the difference is that PAL standard looks better due to it's better resolution and has better colours as well. Normal PAL standard has 50Hz refresh rate with 25 frames per second.

NTSC standard has worse picture quality but has better frame rate (30 frames per second) and it has 60Hz refresh rate...

There is third 60Hz PAL mode that makes a confusion.
In some games you have an option of 60Hz (which I recon that looks worse than 50Hz on my TV, but that's just because I use normal AV cable) ...

Nobody answered whether it is NTSC 60 Hz or PAL 60Hz in case of PES3...

To me it seems that game is 50/60 Hz PAL because everybody says that game looks better on 60Hz ehich means better picture quality (PAL) with the same frame rate as NTSC of 60Hz... and logically since it is the game for European and Australian region it should be ONLY PAL...

The reason why it matters is becuse people wan't to know whether their TV will be able to show 60Hz without scart cable etc... since game looks and plays better on 60Hz...

I thought that too, what makes matters worse is the signals given off by a modded ps2...is your chipped? and if so which chip may I ask?

Basically, the 60Hz mode in PES3 is NTSC (60Hz), because Konami are too lazy to give us a nice refined PAL 60Hz.

However the signal for PES3 given off by certain modded PS2's seems to be PAL 60Hz, while NTSC if other methods are used. I will test PES3 60Hz mode on a none 60Hz tv tomorrow and see. There seem to be a lot of variables in this one though...

Yep mate, you are right. Konami made a hell out of this, and if they gave us NTSC then they really are wimps...

I don't use chipped PS2, and won't chip it since the only game I play is PES2 and now I'll play PES3 when it arrives (hopefully on tuesday). I don't feel bad for paying $100 AUD for the game. I am huge fan of Konami so they should get our money :)

Are you shure about PES3 being NTSC???
I kind of doubt that, but we will see...
Do you have a game???

Please post everything you find out when you test it :)

Thanks a lot!!!

If the graphics are looking fuzzy, that means that your TV doesn't support 60Hz. And it is you, graphics are 100 times better than PES2 :)

kieran, it has been answered 100s of times but here you go again.

There is slight improvement to graphics and smoothness of gameplay in 60Hz due to faster and clearer delivery of visual and audio. (Mike, 2) hahaha, I'm giving you a reference Mike :)

60Hz = faster gameplay, around 10% eh?

Well that might lessen the stutter people might be experiencing if they're getting a lot in 50Hz mode.. Just a thought!

I've been experimenting and getting better graphics out of a 50Hz PAL but on a 50Hz tv only. While the 60Hz looks good on my 60Hz only tv. lol thanks for the ref. Milosh

With regard to the stutter, 60Hz might be worse as the refresh rate is greater, but I haven't tried it yet.

Here's the PES3 screen if you haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Cheers Mate :)

Thanks for the pic, now all my doubts in regard PAL NTSC are gone now! :)

I'll play it in 50Hz :) most likely TODAY when the postman brings it in :)

If you get the chance, play with NTSC around and tell me what you have found, ok? (stutter, colours, which cables, etc...)

Thanks again!!!
