Hi a mate of mine is having a real prob connecting, keeps getting the unable to connect port 5730 problem and he doesn't have a router, he has a thomson speedtouch 330 and pipex 10x broadband. He's got zonealarm running and norton anti-virus, only has SP1 installed on xp. I've tried to sort for him- even disabled norton and zonealarm - same prob, even disabled all startup progs in msconfig and still same prob. I've configured zone alarm to allow udp and tcp for port 5730. Really confused now!

Only things I can think of - 1)pipex is the prob? 2)he's got another firewall somewhere. - far as I know Speedtouch 330 is just a modem, not router so shouldn't have a firewall built in?

Any help v.gratefully received. might even let you beat me online sometime- my online is Fill

Didn't see this until now. Check to make sure the modem does not have an in-built firewall. Check also whether Pipex do anything to provide security. Would look on the internet, but I'm at work.
