A cry for help....

Hi guys,

Been a Pro Evo lover for a long time and have tried and tried to get on with PES2010 but I find myself getting wound up so much everytime I play it I could throw the controller at the wall lol.

This is not a thread to bash PES2010 its to point out what I am struggling with and to try to get help because I rreally do want to like this game.

Where do I start.....I play on xbox 360 and consider myself to be a good player....did a full season on top player on 09 and won every game...not a brag...just context for any help I might get.

Ball retention....how do you do it....no matter how I try I cannot keep the ball....I try to dribble down wing but alway get robbed....BUT the AI does it easily....try to pressure them and its always a free kick.

I try to play a passing game to solve the above problem but my player control is shocking and bounces off my man or pass goes astray yet AI team pass like superstars no matter what team you play...the zip it around often putting 20,30 even 40 passes together...

Very similar experience, but to be honest I think this is a good thing, I think in this aspect they have made the game more realistic. Slowly I have realised you now have to hold the ball up with your forwards and wait for help to come. It seems to me you cant just run with it now (not always anyway) and ghost past defenders. Its all about possession, if you put a number of passes together in the opponents half - a chance will come. It is hard though but this (IMO) is what puts this version above the previous 2.

Try using a back-pass, it works well for me, defenders are very usefull it this year's edition of pes. Pass the ball around, dribble less, and try shooting from distance!

^True, then when you see that you're beating every team, go back up the difficulty.

i'd lower the difficulty aswel. that way you can get more time around the box and practise on your shooting and finishing. No matter what difficulty you play on, once you master how to shoot properly, it wont matter what level you have it on

Experiment with your formation aswel. have 5 in the midfield, flood it right out and whenever you have the ball, you'll have more players to pass too in midfield.

the new pro was built to be a passing game i heard, they've changed it from 09 on purpose so dont be too hard on yourself

if all else fails, buy fifa :p
