An addition that I have not seen mentioned

It has got to do with the ball going out of play.

I hate the fact that you get a quick break away and your friend fouls you because its 3 on 1. Then when its my free kick, his team lines up with all in position. Forget the fact that I had a 3 on 1 situation, when the game resumes his players are all back in position.

I would like to see this being added that when a ball goes out of play, the players run back to position and not in their default positions, it adds to the realism and allows players to take advantage of counter attack situations !

What say ye, has anyone ever thought of it ?

I agree!

I've thought about this too. I don't know if the game needs to load a new screen everytime there's a freekick or a throw-in for some reason?

If not it would be great to have this flow in the game as mentioned, so that even if you get a throw-in or freekick you still might be able to take advantage of a counter-attack situation before the opposition has time to get back in position.

in the pro 4 demo when u get goal kicks all the players stay where they were so u can intercept goal kicks much easier, with free kicks though everyone does go back to default positions and i cant remember what happens with throw ins

In PES4, I made a forward run with Rio Ferdinand and somehow he managed to get to the opponents goal line to try for a cross. It bounced off him to go for a goal kick. As the goal kick was being taken, I could see Ferdinand trotting back to his own half slowly and the goal kick could have been more dangerous if it was direct.

For goal kicks, it's easier for strikers to pinch the ball and attack the keeper too.
Other than that, most players do get back into position which isn't that good.
