Anti aliasing in PES3

I can't seem to have any anti aliasing on with out suffering slowdown on my Radeon 9600PRO. I need to leave it on 'application preference' (which I assume is none as far as I can see) to get it to run smoothly. It runs fine at the highest res and high detail and that is almost good enough but it would be nice to have things a bit smoother as the players strips etc at distance do look a bit messy.

Anybody had any luck with it?

well, cant speak for a 9600 pro, but i have a 9700 non pro, which does at most 2Xaa and 4 or 6x AF. Make sure you have the newest drivers....but you could have a limiting factor, such as CPU and ram...what are your specs?

i'll test my 9800 pro on max AA and AF and see how it does.

right now my card settings are to 'allow software control' or whatever that option is, and then i have pes maxed out on the graphics and its running great

Yeah i'm using Catalyst 3.10 drivers and my CPU is running at 2ghz and I have 512mb DDR400 RAM.

There isn't a problem on other games.

Well For Some Reason Even On My Mates Machine P4 2.6 With Radeon 9800 Pro And 512 Md Ddr Ram The Kits Seem A Bit Messy From A Distance Even With Full Graphics On And 1024x768 Res... Im Not Sure What Could Be Causing That...

Hmmm, strange. Mine is perfect, super smooth and crisp, with alot of AA and AF. I'm surprised how i can get so much peformance out of my setup...I'm still running crappy pc133 ram!! but i do have enough of it, 768mb.

crappy monitor might not help either :D

No problem on the monitor front. I'm using a good 21" Dell Ultrascan.

As I say every other game is fine so it must be a PES3 issue as i can run Call of Duty etc at 1600x1200 @ 120hz with AA/AS at 4x/4x no probs.

Ok, just maxed out my 3D settings. 6X AA and 16AF. The game still runs at 60FPS which is PES3s locked maximum frame rate...however a little slow down in crowded situations in the penalty box. Also replays fluctuate, goes gown to 30 and 40fps. The game is still quite playable though. Ideally, I just like to run it with 2X AA and 2XAF and get absolutely no slow down on high detail and 1024X768 res.

Yes barry, I have a Radeon 9700 (non pro) and I am using catalyst 3.9..I think thats thr latest although I havent checked for updates.

Hmmm, 3.10?? that was quick, seem to be a new one out every month. Might give that a try and test again on max setting, may run perfectly. Oh wait Ctl Alt, didnt you sau you get the blue screen thing in another post....maybe its the driver.....why not try using 3.9, cos its quite stable and i dont get those probs, where also Barry is getting probs with 3.10.

Ok, go here...download "fraps 1.9D" from my website. This will enable you to capture video clips, screen shots, and will give you an FPS read out whilst playing the game on screen.
