Auto tactics VS manual using L2

Which of the following you find more useful? Auto tactics or manual using L2?

The thing where you press L2 and X and it changes formation or something? I forget what I've assigned to each button so I can't be bothered. I either play my Alf Ramsey 4-4-2 or I go 3-4-3 and bring up a centre back to be a battering ram. I won the Champions League final last season with Agger scoring a last minute (91st) header. Amazingly he become top scorer in the competition, his 5 goals beat everyone else.

Yeah I use manual tactics, because that way i can control my team. Say the oposition is on the attack i call for "defend" and say when i'm on the attack i call "counter-attack".

Thanks a lot for the reply and the info PESFan92. I just wanted to check if these tactics actually work for anyone, since i still haven't realised any difference playing auto tactics, manual tactics, or no tactics at all.

I use Offside Trap and CB Overlap, mainly, or occasionally for a quick formation change.
