I warn you now, when you connect to xbox live the dnsa process is different from the ps2, the ps2 version only checks for the originality of the game, but xbox live checks if the xbox has been modified like chipped, and if it has been then you will be banned from xbox live for life, its happened to a friend i know, i've heard their are a few chips or process's you can do to stop this happenin but i warn you all

DO NOT RISK GETTIN BANNED FROM XBOX LIVE, ONCE YOUR BANNED ITS BUY ANOTHER XBOX N XBOX LIVE KIT - Its Not Worth It

Exact, it's worth the E150 and the E30 for the headset, than only E50 for the game and you are online (if you have an internet connection) If you chip it it's E150 for the console 50 for the chip (in Holland that is) E5 for the game and E30 for the headset - the only advantage is that you can buy cheap games in the future but there will be many of you switching from ps2 just for online...

chip your ps2 and keep your xbox clean (perfect combination)

i dont think we are allowed 2 talk much about chipping on this site, but if i can just say if there r ppl who have there Xbox's chipped it is not guaranteed that Xbox Live won't work as there is a certain chip out that allows both 2 work ( it is a chip that contains a little switch which u pull either up or down 4 the Xbox Live to work fine) so don't worry about it 2 much yet.

My Uncle has a modded Xbox and he couldn't get on XBL, however He used the System Link Glitch, which allows you to play online, only if a the game has System Link!!!

im not 2 sure, maybe you have 2 buy the proper game 4 it 2 work on XBOX Live, this Japanese guy just told me about it b4, it costs something like £50 for the chip that still allows access 2 XBOX Live.

I have a modded xbox, so I can clarify some points.

Most chips has some kind of on/off feature that allow you to use Live. Older chips have a mechanical switch, while newer chips have software options.

When the chip is enabled, you can't connect to Live. If you try, your EEPROM will be banned. EEPROM is unique for each xbox, so if you get banned, getting a new account will not solve the problem. The only way to get back on live after you get banned is to get a EEPROM (software) from an unbanned xbox and flash it to the banned xbox. Keep in mind that after an EEPROM is assigned to a Live account, no other xbox with the same EEPROM can create another account. This flash process is relatively easy and you can buy EEPROM for about 10 bucks on some web sites.

It's true that you can't play on Live with import games or games backed up in your HD, since those only work when the chip is enabled. So, if you want to play on Live with a modded xbox, you need to disable the chip, load the default Dashboard (dashboard is the "operational system" that initializes the xbox) and use an original DVD game.

Hope this helps.
