They are Ok but dont look anything amazingly special:

I read in a gaming column in the paper the other day that Brian Lara is much better. I also remember seeing on the internet that Brian Lara is better. Therefore the other day I ordered Brian Lara 2005 from play.com I think it was now.

Yossi, I've gone along the same lines as you. I 'acquired' a copy of Cricket 2004 and was disgusted by the millions of cut scenes between each ball. It was annoying, it didn't feel right, it just looked right. Typical EA. I've ordered Brian Lara off play, even though I probably won't play it much. It definitely feels much better and has been deemed better by every single comparison I've seen.

I got Brian Lara today, and even though I expected it to be a good game, obviously, it is a lot better than I thought. Get it.

Is it possible to do an option file update for ps2 with the real names - similar to the update option files we use for pes4 ?

I seem to be pretty good. I bowled out India with England for 96 on County mode. Took about 80 overs mind, and nearly half of their runs were extras.

 I'm playing a World Cup with India on Village. Bowled out Holland for 97 in 28.5 overs and then proceeded to play stupid lobbed shots and keep getting caught using the "they'll drop one eventually" mindset - ended up with 98 for 5 off about 7 overs. Now I'm up against Australia who are 129-1 from 30 overs so far but have started smacking me around. The batsmen keep playing leg glances which go straight to my fielder. If he wasn't there they'd have 350+ by now....

I think that is because Codemasters have the liscenses to all the classic players. Of which Wasim Akram is one. Therefore he has a great facial likeness. As well as this, Classics have their signature bowling actions.

Other likenesses are a bit rubbish like Simon Jones and Steve Harmison are living in each other's bodys, in that Jones looks like Harmison and Vice-Versa

Despite this, I still love the game :)

P.S: It would be great for someone to post an option file, as I have edited the major sides (England down to Sri Lanka). But it is a real nag editing the U.S.A etc

I rented Cricket 2005 when it came out and really liked it but I'm waiting to rent blc sometime next week before I decide which one to go for. If blc's as good as it was on megadrive i'll probably get that.

Does it have much in the way of features compared to c2005?

I've had it for 2 days now and I've been playing it mostly against a mate so I haven't had much time to explore all the features but I've browsed a bit and there seems to be a lot on offer. With comparison with the other game however, I don’t know because I haven’t played it.

There are 2 tournaments that are licensed (World Cup, ICC Trophy) and you'll enjoy playing on that. I gotta say I love playing test matches on the test mode. It's tough but it's very enjoyable.
