well i've finally had enough of PES. this is the best one yet i've seen.

my system specs:

intel quad core 2.4
geforece 8800gtx
4gb ram

so basically my pc is pretty damn fine :)

when i first installed pes2008 it ran really choppy but setting frame skipping and vsync on sorted it right out, in fact if anything it ran far to fast, about 2.5 times faster than it does on the 360 or ps3 but it was completely smooth, no problems with it spacking out on replays like it does on the consoles.

so yesterday i brought a brand new dell 2408 24" mother of monitor and now pro evo runs like the biggest pile of sticky poo!!!!!!!!!!

running it on the native 1920x1200 makes it run smooth but it's like watching it in slow motion. playing it on 1280x1024 using the same settings that i had when i used to run it on my 15" monitor makes it run choppy and rubbish, if i put my old 15" back in (ooo pardon) it runs fine............every other game in the world is fine, call of duty 4 runs spanking, even assassins creed runs fine but crappy pro evo!!!!!! my hatred for konami has grown in recent years but now i completely give up, as if it's not bad enough that they keep cocking the game itself and the online up now i can't even run the friggin thing.

KONAMI AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

yeah pretty much, just needed to get it out of my system, i could go on for hours about konami and how they've screwed up my favourite game in recent years but i'm ranted out over pro evo, well i thought i was untill i put that monitor in. also i couldn't remember my username for this site as it's been ages since i've been on here so i can only apologise for posting for the first time.

probably should have put some more info in but i didn't think anyone could help, i've tried every resolution and setting but it still runs choppy as fook, even set the monitor to a 4:3 aspect to see if that helped but no joy. monitor is running at 60hz aswell.

it doesn't make sense to me, how can the monitor make it run poo when it runs to perfection on 15" lcd? Then again have you played the PS3 version, that runs choppy unless you put it on a decent LCD tv which confuses me.

so paddy, do you get choppyness when running it without frame skipping? the thing i don't like is if you have a basic understanding of how pro evo is programmed turning frame skipping on is a bad idea, it does lead to alot of frustrating moments like the ball passing through players when it should rebound off them (the ball is a separate entity with it's own physics on this version my arse) and those annoying moments when they ball bounces off players instead of them controlling it. how does your's run with vsync on?

thinking about it pes6 used to run poo unless i stuck a no-dvd exe in there and ran it without the dvd, are you running it from the disc?

*-sigh-* i give up, i used to have to take my 360 apart and fix the red lights of death every 3 days just to play pes2008 so i upgraded my pc instead to save me some hassle, i might have to bite the bullet and turn to the dark side and play fifa.

actually ignore that last sentence, i'd rather play with barrymore at the local swimming pool than degrade myself by playing fifa.

arse biscuits that's annoying. why does pro evo hate me so much :(

i got it running on 1280x1024 at a decent speed but choppy as fook, looked like the PS3 version running on a shite tv.

well makes no sense to me, i've gone from having it running 2 and half times as fast as it should, changed me monitor and now it's unplayable. genius

i did notice that it forces the monitor to run at 75mhz which is impossible for an LCD to run above 60mhz so that kinda makes sense why it's choppy, then again my old 15" monitor was an LCD so it's just a massive circle of confusion.

fuck it up the arse i give up, time to get the sonic screwdriver and the thermal paste out and fix the shitbox 360 :(
