in pes2 we had to win the konami cup to edit club teams and stuff. now the call names. wouldnt it have been good if konami allowed us to join words togeather to make proper club names.

eg. manchester and united = Man Utd.

wot a good feature this would be.

what do you guys think?

Would be cool, but with some names there would be problems, because names like Arsenal, Lazio or Juve are licensed. I think there wouldn't be any problems with FC or United

It's a good idea but the commentator would probably say it in a silly way with it sounding wrong (in the inflections of how the words are said).
There should be United, City, Rovers, Atletico and all the rest too.

("The Southerners" anyone??!)

if its a big improvement i will be pleased but i'm not expecting it to as they will no doubt be translating it straight from Japanese instead of starting from scratch in English

by the way - any idea of who the commentators will be in pes3. and i agree that the commentators would say it in a funny way.
they'd say manchester and then you;ll hear the disc spin waiting for it to look for united. then it;ll go manchester------gap----united.

It's a good idea. There's an extensive database of player names in the game, but they're rarely used in my experience. Anyone else find this? I'd prefer it if the commentator at least said the odd player name.

Lazio isn't licensed, its a part of the city of Rome.

Supposedly the commentary for PES3 will not be just a direct translation but written by native English (or whatever) speakers to make it much better. Hope this is true and that it works out well.
Either that or people can just do what others have tried and replace all the commentary in WE6:FE with English fifa commentary.

I know that Lazio is a part of Rome. And San Siro is a part of Milano, but it´s licensed so Konami couldn´t use it as the name of the stadium in the game.

Hey mate, you do have the player name thing turned on in the commentary?

You can do it in the main options, before a match or during a match.
Go to the Audio options and turn it on.
You can also change the frequency of commentary between 0 and 3 stars.

Enjoy a whole new feel to the game!

Ha, thanks guys! Think I'll play it on three star, bound to make the game more difficult. That idiot Brackley: "I tell I lie, he's missed." Where was the lie?!
