Changing COM team lineups

I've already changed the COM teams to the lineups that i want, but for some reason some of the goalkeepers are different. e.g. Carrol for Man U. instead of Howard. I don't know if this is the reason, but it seems to be the teams who have a keeper who doesn't wear the No.1 jersey. Also affects Celtic Hedman(number twentysomething, can't remember) in place of Douglas(No.21?), Sullivan in place of Cudicini at Chealsa. Read thread about changing incorrect outfield players in COM and must try this for Figo, but can't see how this would work for goalkeepers without making them an outfield player which just would not do. I realise I could just give the keeper I want the No.1 jersey but I would have to start the ML again? and I like to have all the shirt No.s accurate. Anyone able to solve this .

the cpu chooses their own master league teams, maybe it prefers caroll to howard, for whatever reason.

I never got into the keepers, but here's a recommendation - if the keeper you want to start has the correct appearance/number/shirt no, etc.. then just write all the specs down(face number, skin, height etc) and edit the goalie who is in the starting position to match the one you want there and vice versa.

and also good news.. any editing you do to players like stats, shirt no's, and appearances, will be reflected immediately in your current season.. nice huh?

as well as the Figo trick for getting COM mangagers to start the correct players

Howards not good enough in the game, have you upped his stats? this worked for me

Thanks guys I might try that one out. The only thing is would that not mean Carroll is then in the US national team? I think that would only work if both players were non-internationals. You could not register Howard back into the US team in place of Howard as he would then have the nationality of Carroll. This is another one that needs to be changed for PES 4 , being able to edit an already created players nationality. Any experts out there got a solution to this wrong GK conundrum.

Solved this one thanks to pelepele.As he recomended i improved Howards stats, after which i noticed he was now Man Utd's first choice keeper. Having checked the stats, i saw that Howards were now better than Carrolls(which i thought they would be anyway!).I realised that the COM team simply selects the best player for each position. So if you want an opposition player to be in their first choice team, simply improve his stats(to greater than his challenging player). Cheers again pelepele.
