Im sure that if a survey was done they woud find out.....

Fifa Fans are gamers of 16 yrs and younger witch LIKE soccer and are more kean to own a nice and famous soccer game with nice strips and all ANDDDD they have never tried Pro Evolution Soccer or tried it and found it hard to play after playing an easy game like FIFA....... There problem is they never did play PES enough to realise the superiority of gameplay.

Pes Fans are more mature gamers that understand and appreciate the gameplay of this great game, They Love Soccer and they have already played FIFA and can tell the differences between the 2 games.

In fact how many of you know of fifa fans that today turned to be great PES fans ( like me) ? Im sure there are many and many ......... and how much people have being playing PES and than turn on FIFA ? very few im sure.....

This says it all .......Konami play with EA just like a cat plays with a mouse before eating it ( or they have pacts) .

very very well said couldn't agree more

I used to be a BIG fan of fifa, played it since 99 i think.I used to be like i mentioned my mate was further up this topic. That was until i rented out PES3 from blockbusters,I basically just fell in love with the game and got it bought from my christmas that year! Then came last year with PES4,i bought that the day of release and am still playing it these days, the games just don't get boring! So i can safely say ive went from a big Fifa Fan to a HUGE PES fan!

Once i saw PES i never neverrrrrr played FIFA anymore, and to say the truth i have touched the joypad to play FIFA a couple of times at my friends house to satisfy my curiosity and know if the gameplay is still crappy and I always found my self saying ohhh god thanks for PES i love that game.

I think what Madrileno touched on is correct. PES is for the more mature gamer. I bet if a study was done into the average age of someone who buys FIFA and PES, FIFA would be under 16 and PES over 16. I used to play FIFA and ISS when is was at school, but when i hit about 17 i grew up and totally forgot about FIFA, ISS was all that mattered.

However, i shall go back to the original subject of the thread. I think that fans of PES are now demanding full licensing and better game presentation simply because consoles have moved on. Back when ISS came out we didn't care about the plain blue, red or white shirts that the players wore because technology wasn't capable of giving us realistic graphics. Now the next gen consoles can produce almost picture perfect graphics, we want to see the game amaze us visually as well as through the gameplay. And sadly, that means Konami must get full licensing.

Well sad we pretend that with the strength of the next generation consoles we will see improved grapichs witch mean also real kits with sponsors that would be the iceing on the cake.

After all the game has to improve from every aspect of it not only gameplay witch is always the bloodline of the game.

We want the gameplay to keep improving to the point that it takes us on a totally new level in future even better than now were a match on PES would be represent 100% a real soccer match. Thats THE DREAM.

YES that is it, thats what all we here wish and what konami are creating step by step , a perfect simulation of a real soccer match and they are on the right way.

But it has to be known to real kits with sponsors do give the game something more and the game can only be better.

well i'm 20 and only got into pro around christmas. uptil then i played pro. most of my m8s kept on tellin me play pro it's miles better, so i rented both pro evo 5 and fifa 2005 before i bought 1.

i just remember saying pro evo looked more arcade like when you played and slower. actually i have now realised that fifa is so unrealistically faster. the unofficial time names dragged at beginning but you get to know them. at least player names are real. no fifa stadium matches that porto folio one. and things like you getting injured and go off the field and can come back on as well as an advantage playing ref is fab.

only drag is my keeper just doesn't want to get sent off no matter how hard i try- even if he is the last man.

i agree licensing would be great but i don't want to comprimise any gameplay realism for that. there are still minor glitches that need to be cleaned up and subtle touches like more weather, yellow ball etc that i have mentioned in what things you want in PES5 forum.

it is a fact. as soon as pro gets full licensing, if it does, fifa will be crushed. henry and now terry endorsing pro. surely it's only a matter of time.

actually can someone tell me how this licensing thing works? how come only some leagues are licensed. who owns the fifa licensing and why do you think they are sticking with fifa and not pro? has pro outsold fifa so far? like how realistic is it that pro will get full licensing?

What irks me about the PES-FIFA thing is how FIFA has some of the most dedicated fanboys ever seen.

Basically think of how we know PES is better than FIFA, we simply do, it is how we think, well I've met people who have the exact same mindset with FIFA, it's crazy. They fooking laughed at me for believing PES was better.

This is why I want Licenses and, more importantly, a better fucking advertising plan so moomins who watch TV will buy it, and it has to be a well thought out strategy, not a once a week ad airing at 3am on Bravo, we need partnerships with the Champions League or something like that, something where people will go out and buy the damn thing.

I hope this is really the emphasis on the next game. I'm even willing to sacrifice the gameplay as I believe that they've gotten as much as they can out of the PS2 so I'm not expecting too much as, hopefully, they should have their eye on the next gen stuff and WE10 which should hopefully be the best game ever made by man.

Everything is set up for WE10 to be revolutionary, it's the 10th in the series, first on the next gen console, enough time to accumulate licenses and pay for advertisements leaving us to cream our pants forever more, wiping up the mess with FIFA 2009 Super street xxx edition manuals.

Hmmm, waiting for a Pro Evo on the PS3 would involve a wait of a year if PES6 will be the same as PES1 on the PS2

The PS2 was launched on 24/11/00 in Europe, PES1 was released on 23/11/01, a day off a year.

Hopefully it shall be a similar time frame, all depends on when the PS3 is released, which could be between late 2005 to late 2006, which means PES6 could be as far off as 2007. Oh dear.

This is true I think that Fifa has only 2 things better than PES , these are licenses and Better advertising to their game.

The rest is all to Pro Evolution Soccer s advantage, so why dont Konami take seriously those 2 things, it mus be a mystery.

I agree! They should definitely spend more money on advertisement. However, Real Madrid, for the first half of the season, were promoting the game on the sponsor boards during their home matches. That was a good move, I thought. The TV ad was a let down though.

Yeah, we had Thierry Henry, one of the best footballers in the world and we made him act, not only that, but we made him act like he was acting (if you get my drift) having to pretend to be sick.

Should of had him playing football or treading on FIFA discs.

On a plus note I can reveal that the Colombian under-17's or 20's play PES when travelling.

Yeah, they probably called him in, gave him 2 minutes in front of the camera and they probably basically said to him, "We've got no lines prepared so just say whatever the hell you want."

In response to Badgerman's comments, i don't think we will have to wait until 2007 for the first next-gen offering from Konami. What with the XBOX 360 coming out in time for christmas, the PS3 shouldn't be too far behind (if Sony don't want to lose out to Microsoft), and most predict that it will be released in spring next year. That gives Konami plenty of time to work on WE10/PES6. Infact, Konami are probably working on titles for the PS3 right now.
