Most people say that WE7 was better than PES3.

No slowdowns in PES4 will be a big advantage over WE8. And the fact that it is in English will be a plus for many. Apart from that we'll have to wait and see if they changed the gameplay at all.

From what i've heard, PES will be better, with the slowdowns gone, updates and the shooting fixed, I think we have a near perfect game. It seems the biggest problem with both are the lack of striped shirts, which is an awfully stupid mistake, but with the gameplay being the most important thing, it's not too major.

I have always gone against the flow and said that the PES series is superior to the WE series and I still believe this to be true. It just feels like the poor japs get a 'test' version of the game that is then refined and fine-tuned for the European release.

Roll on PES4 I say!!

this question is almost pointless, its obvioulsy going to be better because the newer versions are always tweaked more than the last. mike69 is dead right, WE then PES then WE:I, its always the same cycle

It's easy to choose PES once it's out but in August when there is only WE available, that is the only choice you have. And most of us will leave PES when WE8:I comes out anyways. It's always about the latest and best.....

I wonder...
PES 4 has the big advantage to go on-line for the Xbox. So if you have an XBox I don't think you will play WE9 or so, unless that has on-line feature as well.
I think that there will be only a few differences between WE8 and PES4 gameplay-wise. The slowdown will be removed and that's about it.
There may be some new lisences, but that has nothing to do with gameplay.
The biggest jump forward is the LIVE-feature for XBox users.
