Counter-attacking football

My mate plays it against me, I play same formation as him or similar. He plays counter attacking football and every time my attack breaks up he has 4 v 3, and always has an extra man.

All my defenders are set as high defence, I just can't doing nothing to combat this any tips?

It depends on what team you are also using mate.
I think there 'Attacking' stat helps as well.
Because if you have a very defensive team, they aren't as good as counter-attacking as most, so it really depends on the team.

try changing the setting for your back line to c, this way your defence will sit deeper.

thats the way i play 2, and i push my defenders up high so i have extra support. works well

i always have 5 attacking and 5 sitting back, well the ones sitting back are either 2 in the midfield and 3 back or 1 in midfield and 4 back. their defensive and atacking arrows are all set backwards.
