Defending well?

hi, i have a problem, wonder if some of the more seasoned players here could help. i have always played my pes/WE very attack-minded, and its always worked for me, on 6 stars, winning the konami cup with some crap team like latvia isn't difficult. Quick passing and possession is the name of my game. Of course, the main highlight is that my style enables me to regularly kick my friend's butt, even when he ONLY uses classic brazil or france.

th problem is lately, he's started to cramp his defence with 4 DMFs sitting tightly infront of them. One lone striker, Pele or Henry to receive the through balls. Here's where the mind-numbingly boring shit "tactics" really shine. He basically waits for me to attack into a frenzy, all game if he has to, and with 10 men camping around their own penalty area. Then get the ball to Henry whenever he has the chance, and then his fingers go to work. No sidesteps or feints of stepovers. Just quick sharp change of directions + very very quick bursts of speed. with my whole team barely getting back into defence from attack. The funny thing is, in real life, it would be simple to just get my 2 CBTs to push up close to wherever Henry is and try to cut off supplies to him (thats all he really does) , but strangely they're always somewhere in between him and my penalty area. and Henry tehn waltzes past them like nobody's business and then does the same to the goalkeeper. EVERY. BLEDDY. TIME.

Ideas anyone? How to defend against human opponents effectively, i've never had so much problems in PES before? is my only way out to temper my own attacking play and play at his own game - dribbling?

Yes - or take Henry or whoever is the quick player out of the game !

heh heh.... thought about that before... thing is, he did a bit of editing and france has like Djibril Cisse, Nic Anelka, Henry and Trezeguet in the same team. and I think every player has injury-proneness related stats? I get my red cards, but henry more often that not returns to score another sickening breakaway.

oh er, just read the player arrows explained thread. we play exhibition matches on the red arrow up setting. damn. henry might (or might not) be running at 111! how wanked is that?!!

I think you should perhaps change the way you play - more realistic like that anyway dont you think ?

try setting one of your defence on man marking and then set it to aggressive
that should leave a defender stuck with that lone striker, if he goes to take a shit your defender will rip the toilet paper for him.

quick defenders

i used to have the same problem but manage to sort it out. I put in at least 2 quick cb and one dmf that stay very deep. Sometimes, i oso uses a sweeper as my last line of defence. Ur opponent must be very scare of you....if now, how come he put the entire family in defence?

how many goals you scored againts him?.... 20-0?

kudos... mate

Man mark style defence is the answer. Go to manual/individual on formation menu and change defense style from Zone mark to Man mark. Choosing the right defender for the Job is also important.
1- Check if defender has a star* on man mark in special abilities. I'm not sure Latvia has any though.
2- Make sure he is quick, higher than seventy in speed, reaction.
