Direction When Shooting

Been playing this game for a while and I still can't get the hang of shooting. I get into a position where one side of the goal is open but my guy still shoots at the keeper with the other side of the goal open.

I need some tips with shooting.

I am playing on the Xbox 360 and here's the situation. I am running left to right and I am about 25yard out and I see a gap at the keepers right. Now on the controller if I press right and shoot the ball goes straight at the keeper. If I press up and right it goes at the keepers same with down and right.

Even with the the player on his favoured foot he still manages to hit it at the keeper.

Has anyone got any other tips for hitting the open side of the goal?

try shooting diagonally as in.. run up diagonally to whatever corner u want to shoot in.. that may work..

also holding RT i think directs the ball.. not completely sure if it works.. also try adding more power.

^As above and when shooting keep pressing the same buttons you were pressing before the shot. I always score from a distance. Diagonal means pressing for example left+up.

So if I am centre of the goal 25 yards out should I then look to turn at an angle before shooting?

I don't know if it happens to you guys but some times when I want my player to put his foot through the ball he seems to chip the ball. I don't double tap the shoot button.

Any tips for stopping this?

well chipping normally happens if there is a defender pressurising you.. and if you hold LB it chips it.. but yeah try to hold the direction buttons all the way through the shot.

Yeah I know about the pressure but sometimes I could be in space and I press the shoot button but instead of blasting he chips it.

heres my gem, when running towards goal :r2:+:square:+:down or up should make the player side foot finish it
also if a good right footer is on the left wing cut in so you are parallel to the 18 yard line (running down) :r2:+shoot works well also.

note a bit of power needed for both.

If you are running one on one with the keeper i tend to hit the direction button once just before i shoot. So tap the side you want to slide the ball into and press shoot straight away.

When you just want to shoot normal you should try and angle the shot into one of the corners...usually works
