disc read error

hey i have brought a max drive and everything was going fine until it came to the ps2 disc. when i put the ps2 disc into the ps2 for the max drive i get the messege 'disc read error' does anyone know how to fix this??

Try turning console upside down.

If it is the slimline one, try it for that aswell.

Many people have recommended this technique.

I just bang the PS2 a bit, works fine for me, i'm still using the same PS2 as when it first come out!!

when you said that you jit it a bit when do u hit? do u hit it when it comes up disc read error?

I usually turn it to standby, then just slightly bang it against the floor!

Sounds a bit extreme i know, but it works every time for me after a couple of goes.

Yeah, placing the console vertically does help. I had the same problem with my Max Drive at first buy, I placed my console vertically and pressed the 'reset' button about 6 times... without letting it load before resetting it again. Works a beauty nowadays.
