Do i need a X-Port or Max-Drive ?

it may seem like a strange question but im getting a flip tp lid and swap magic discs for christmas but do i also need the x-port or a max-drive to patch evo ???

You need them for option files so yeah you do kind of.

However, you could just use bin, cue files...

As long as you have a PC with CD writing capabilities and a modded PS2 you do not need an X-Port or a Max-Drive. But, if you want to transfer saves, replays or option to your PC from your PS2 then you will need one.
