Me and 3 mates where playing one night and i was real madrid and they where barca, anyway the keeper rolled it out to r carlos and he kicked it long up the pitch and raul and some defender where running towards the barca goal tusseling and as the ball
came down, Raul (me) hit it on the volley first time from about 20 yards and it was going into the top corner when the keeper got a hand to it!

thats similar to the goal raul actually scored in world cup 98 against Nigeria. (i have a DVD with all the world cup 98 goals on it)

the best goal i almost scored was with beckham for man utd
it was kick off and i try to walk my to the goal but get fouled. beckham steps up and i press circle to just over 75% and add curve to the ball and hits the corner between the post and cross bar and campbell clears it for arsenal. wot a goal that would have been.

i almost scored a free kick with roberto carlos. i was about 45 metres out. I just blasted it with some curl. the keeper touched it on to the bar and then it bounced onto the inside of the post and back across the face of the goal. i was just about to cross the line then the keeper dived on it.

i nearly scored a great goal. i was arsenal and i took a corner the oposition cleared it with his head it was realy high in the air from about 20 to 25 yards out from half way to the edge of the box and the start of the d and it droped to ronaldo and he absolutly hammerd this volley it beat the keeper and hit the top corner joint and went out for a goal kick. i was shocked cause when i hit a volley from that range its real slow and its low aswell.

can someone tell me how to crack the overhead kicks becuase every time i try to do one i just miss the ball and it goes out for a throw in.

try using R2 to position your player and then double tap square. overall, its a bit hit and miss really.

so i guess it really hard to do. it was much easier on pes1 to do and id i thought it would be easy doing it on pes2. cheerz lads. ill try out tonight.

get on that training ground and practise try crossing on the byline the crosses seem to go away from the goal use the R2 button to position yourself face away from goal ass the ball aproches by your head and hit the square button. its noot easy i know but practice like i did and hey presto.

Does it really matter if you 'nearly' score. That counts for nothing. And anyway most overheads, volley, diving headers people score were accidental and all they wanted to do was shoot. There isnt much skill in that unless you are a master (and I aint saying I am) and you score great goals for fun in PES2.

I could go on and on a few dozen times about goals I 'nearly' scored but 'didn't'.

Whats the point?

Overhead kicks could be down to players having high Shot Technique being more likely to try it. That's my theory anyway.
Stats like that of Vassell who has 96 - he tries it sometimes.

Its all about the person and there ability settings. For example i've been practising chesting the ball high when you receive it and then hitting it first time with a bycle kick. If you play as England the best person to do practice with is Rio Ferdinand!!? Seriously. Try it!

my best goal was when i played with my cousin. I was france and he had euro elite. I won a foul somewhere outside my area. I tried to send the ball inside his area so I pressed the square all the way. the ball went too high and when it came down it was 2 defenders the goalkeeper and henry inside the net and waiting for the ball. kahn hit it but it was already a goal. we were absolutely stoned. we spent the next 20 minutes watching the replay again and again. I've never seen anything like this before.that was on pes1

my best goal was a 45 yrd free kick goal from veron. i pushed circle and it lobbed the keeper - just fab

you know that impossible free kick beckham scored at the end of last season, from the far right hans side of the pitch into the top left corner? try scoring one like that, i took one which beat the keeper but then hit the sodding post and came back out. how agonising is that?

I have scored the most perfect free kick with robby carlos. It was perfectly in the top corner, sweved the correct way for him and was from an amazingly long distance. I was v. chuffed a tell thee!!
