Hi i have we 2007 and i was wondering how development worked in ML. At first i thought it was by the score the players get at the end of the game (the higher the score the more improvement) but i started noticing that players even at 8.0 arent improving as they sometime would at other games? Am i just wrong or what? Help!

I use the developing players all the time.Sign them after they retire and start giving them half an hour when your winning.I usually play all the players i dont lay in the cup aswell.I ususally play a defender with a first choice defender just in case something happens.
If your winning a game well sub a few key players and bring on the kids so to speak.
Its very good because the player will develop to the way you play.
Training after the season ends is very good too.For defenders put them heading or defence, usually i do heading because its a huge part of defending.

if you play the player in the right position then he develops more compared to if you play him in the wrong position e.g if you play someone who is a DMF/CMF on SMF then he wont develop as much as if u played him in the correct positions. also you will find that the player develops more in the normal league games compared to the cup games. i dont know why that is but thats how konami think players develop. Use Patrick Hurleys method of keeping the youngsters on the bench until you're winning quite comfortably. the more you play a player, the more experience he will get and therefore develop faster to a player you dont play as much. hope this helps...ask if you need more help :)

Don't forget to play them if you're being hammered as well. Any game time will improve the player.
