Is there any way to make the goalie stay on his line?

Triangle to make him come out..or, he rushes out stupidly when a striker is close (opens him up for infinite lobs and chips) is there a way to make him stay on his line as you control the defenders?

By using the manual GK cursor option?

Modify his attack and defence arrows to get the to point backwards and he should stay back more.

Hmm, I've tried that in all P.E.S's on the PS2. It seems automated if you know what I mean? If you get within a certain range of the keeper he comes bombing out, predictably and any decent 2p can lob him 9/10 times.

I always found it wierd that there was a button to make him run too the ball but no command(s) to make him run back to the line? Wondered if I was missing something, some secret way to do it or something. :)

But whatever you do, if he starts rushing out, keep your finger on :triangle: because if you don't he'll stop in place, fall down, or screw up in another creative way.

When it comes to 1-1s i personally do it manually, the dumb AI can't do much. When you control the GK manually you can easily confuse the other player or AI. I save it most of the time.

you have to 1st adjust the keeper to never attack and always stay back (defence and attacking tactics)
2nd when the keeper comes out by himself press triangle once so that he will notice an interruption of the command and stop moving...
cheers.

The agression does make a difference too. A keeper with high aggression legs it out before the striker reaches the box! If the agression is really low they don't run out as much. Most of the best keepers seem to have high aggression though
