the shots always go wide or over the bar, if you hold shoot down it will go over the bar, if you press it quickly its a weak shot.

i remember in PES1 you could get some great shots.

for example, anyone remember gerrards goal against united a few years ago? impossible on pes3.

but how often does Gerrard try that and how often does he actually score?
but i do agree, some things are too differcult.like free ficks for example,i have NEVER scored from one,im hitting the post more, recently tho!

I scored with Crespo from about 25m today, also a volley from over 20m with Scholes a couple of days ago. It is possible definately. It was on WE7 though, not on PES3.

It's not difficult to score from outside the area. You just have to get the 'feel' for it in PES3 before you get good at it.

It's not like someone can teach you how much power you need to use for each player and each distance.

Practice is a good thing. Don't shoot like you did in other games.

It`s hard, we all know but once you get used to it you`ll like it. You have too feel how much power you use, and then the ball will reach it`s target. And I don`t blame WE7 or anyone if you watch real football match they miss alot of shots even good players..

I know what he means though. No pressure, 20 yards out and a shot that sails wide! Sometimes it is daft but my advice even though I am no better, is this; try playing on 2* or a little lower than what you are on now. That way you will still be involved in a game situation but you will get alot more oportunities to shoot from distance. The more yiou shoot then the better you will become. ;) Hope it helps.

Let us know how you get on pal :)

I've scored some real screamers from way outside the box on PES3, but it ain't easy! But then again, it's not easy in real life either! Even the greatest players miss kick long shots regularly and I think Konami have got the percentage spot on.

Keep practising and add some spin and you'll get there in the end.

The shooting is more sensitive than on pes2, there is alot less room for error with the shooting on pes3.

Try not to shoot from more than 18-20m with players who have a blue or grey arrow. This won´t work in most cases. If a player is good at shooting and has a yellow or red arrow then you could also try it from 25-30m, I managed to score with Vieri from over 30m, this is my record.

that's crazy!
but i've scored just outside of the box volleying (not half-volley) off a corner with Jaap Stam!!!
so I think scoring outside the box when volleying is much easier as the power bar doesn't seem to play a big role on volley shots.

Congrats mate, such goals are very rare. I agree, the shot bar is very sensitive on volleys, you only need to fill 20 % of it for a huge volley

i dont like the way the players shoot, they always seem to turn to the side to shoot, why cant we have top of the foot shots?

there is, mate. there are shots with the inside, the toes, and the outside of the foot.

it happens to you might be due to ur habit of shooting. i'm not sure.

Well to settle this why doesn't everyone post their longest goal and let the evidence speak for itself... mine is a 32m free kick.. what is the rest of u guys' longest goal???

You need someone with reasonable Shot Acc, Shot Pow etc stats to score from much outside the area in open play. That featherlite ball does tend to "go south for summer" otherwise. (Damn, mines 30 yds, fk, Hagi!!)
