The Boss
In a press release this morning, Konami have confirmed that John Terry will feature alongside Adriano on the UK cover of Pro Evolution Soccer 6. Terry spoke of the role:

“No other game can touch Pro Evolution Soccer 6 in terms of realism. The way the players move on and off the ball is second to none, and I am honoured to be the face of the best football title around.”

The press release, which can be read here goes on to say that the England National Team will have licensed home and away kits.

”The deal marks the first time in the series’ history, that England will be represented in their full three lions first and second strips, adding additional authenticity to what has already been described as the most realistic football title for any format.”

The FA and EPL are different franchises. Both have different rights. The FA can talk to anyone and let them use the license. The EPL however have an exclusive deal with EA for the use of the league logo's and teams involved. Everyone else has to go to the teams individually.

The fact that the EPL renewed their contract with EA really pisses me off. They have no right to have a monopoly on the clubs. It's bullshit. If the FA had any sense, they'd know it's because ES see Konami as a threat and they would simply take money from both parties. Everyones happy then. Its not as if ES would say "Fine then, we won't make the game" or "OK, we don;t need you license anyway"...
