Keepers and goalies

Hi,

I just registered to this forum and its really cool to see that the most beautiful footie game on earth has an own forum . I am from the Netherlands and there will be some spelling faults in my english just ignore it.

Well this is were my discussion is all about.

I have been playing ISS and PES for a long time. When Konami started on the SNES and SEGA I started playing this beautiful game. Since Konami started with PES titles this game has beaten EA by far and all the other footie games.

Almost everything is top quality in this game. The gameplay graphics leagues playability. What I would like to see is referees and linesmens but I think it would have affect on the gamespeed and gameplay. And some what we call in Holland "outside the field events" would be cool in the game like players stretching talking to trainers discussions with referee or other teammates when it's a free kick penalty or whatever. But it's not that a big deal.

PLaying this game for years there is still one thing the Japanese guys like Libere Nose and all the editors can't get done. That is The Goalie. We still don't have a manual keeper/goalie. When you press the TRIANGLE button to let the goalie come out it comes out like a wild man. It goes towards where the ball is going to end eventually (if it is a high cross cornes, free kick or a long high shot on goal). You can see this really good when you are taking a corner kick. If you plan to give a high cross and you let the goalie come out he's 80% flying over the ball or trying to hit you're attacker and no attention to the ball.

This is a bug for about 3 years.

There is a way to manually control the keeper in WE7 (and also PES3) which involves pressing L1+/\ and then you press [] to make a save.

I think wixon is the man with the knowledge on this.
So don't worry too much as there will be slightly more control over the keeper in the new games.

yeah, the manual keeper works as Zygalski stated. It takes alot of practice, the cpu players normally just go round me and if you try to make a save you end up giving away a penalty. I'm sure with practice this will be a useful addition to the game

Ok thnx that will be cool.

Well the other things of the CPU goalie is when you give a high cross towards the goal and you let the goalie come out it runs towards the spot where the ball is going to land.

Well sometimes there is a forward which gets the ball before it goes near the penaltybox the goalie is still running to the spot and you are in 7 of the 10 cases a free man and you can make the goal.

The other thing is 1 on 1 situation. When the goalie comes out and when u shoot the ball with ur forward the goalie comes out with a bullshit sliding or sometimes falls backwards or only shows his hands to let you see he's done his upper best to try to prevent the goal . Esspecially when he falls back or makes that sliding it's really annoying because most of the times he was able to prevent the goal.

There are more "bugs" but I hope you get the picture. Like Wixon en Zygalski said it should be over with this shit and hopefully they are really improved.

Oh there is one more thing about the goalies of Konami they make the most beautiful reflexes a goalie has ever made

That is my big friend in PES 2 hehe. He is one of the best OMF in the game.

And one of my favourite players at this moment. Like we say it in the Netherlands: Hij is Mastah

Another hindsight, Zygalski. So much has been said about Cursor fix on GK (I'm a HUGE fan of that for PES 4 & WE 8). I've just discovered a new move called 'jockey' from the official PES 4 manual. But if you start trying it out, you'd be surprised what you can do after you get a few games to get used to it.

Hahaha.. This game is supposes to be a simulation of the real shit. When a player gives a cross towards the goalie area (5m box) The ball is 9 out of 10 times keepers ball. In this game he doesnt make the effort to cath the ball, he lets it pass by... The forward can do whatever he wants and scores the goal...
