L2 + Any button?

I never got the meaning of that function? A picture of the button you press appear on the left side of your television, but what does it do??

you have an option for using multiple formations. so with L2 + [] you get a 4-4-2 and with an L2 + O you get an 3-5-2. obviously you choose them.

They are the strategy buttons. Assign strategies to them (including formations) and select them during the match. Stuff like counter attack and centre attack.

how many of you actually use this function, i have never bothered with it, has doing this ever saved u during a game

i used in a season with real once. was pretty cool though. but still, i don't play for the win, but try to make a match as beautiful as possible. and formations don't do beautiful goals i guess

i guess it could b good if u were 1-0 up in the last 10 with arsenal 4 example and u kept hittin em on the counter with henry's pace.

yep, but still, i find multiple formations boring. i just need the one formation that suits the team and let's me play good. it would be nice feeling to kick zyg's ass even though all the letters of the alphabet are going up and down on the bottom of the screen

yeah me 2, i usually set up how the team plays and pick the appropriate players 2 rag. it is that simple, no need to complicate things, just go out and do the business

Using strategies can improve your play a bit and could make the crucial difference when competing against a top player.

As witnessed by many in the PES4 final of the EGC2 tournament. To beat someone who has just beat a good player (yes really) 12-2 is not easy.

L2+R1 increases the team's aggressiveness (more attack-minded), L2+L1 - more defense-minded
