left right free kicks?

Could someone do a step by step a 18-24m free kick?
Based on Free kick guide on youtube:

-Aim bottom corner with (down) and (left/right)

-Fill up bar to half way line

-Then Hold (X)

But I dont understand that when you hold left or right, you're selecting the direction of your FK. So how is it?

I think what they meant to say is to hold left/right as the bar fills up until the player actually kicks it.
This will cause the ball to curl in the desired direction.

Holding down is for shorter distances (up to 25m)
Without holding either up or down is for average distances (25m to 28m)
And holding p is for longer distances (27m+ ...up to around 35m for world class FK takers)

Note: You can hold up or down together with the curl direction at the same time if you wish to do so.

Hope this helps.

Picture the scene.

Free kick 18-24m out on the left hand side of the goal, the keeper is the right hand side of his goal so the wall is attempting to block the left hand side.

I would aim just left of centre. Press square so the bar fills up 1/4, then press again so it fills just over half way, (just and only just over half way). Using the direction pad i would hold botton left.

Thus curving the ball into the top corner. This would be for players with good curl on the ball (beckham ronaldinho etc) Obviously you would adjst the aim to countert the curve of the ball

With players like Gerrard and Juninho would aim further left from centre and i would you up and left as i stuck the ball (using the same power bar) and again look to smash it top corner

The thing with free kicks it it's really difficult to tell people how to do them, because the players are different and the scenarios are different

The best advice i could give is to practice in training mode

love and hate free kicks. i either kick it to high (hit the Xbar) or to low it hits the wall. very rarely perfect into the goal. unless i aim at the goal where the wall isn't covering

on the 360 i don't know whether to hit B or X. B is a tad slow but has more height and dip and x well you know.
the directional buttons dont seem to do much for me either. down grounds the ball? up does what?

i've just been using the second guy to kick it out and i smash it in or pass it couple times before scoring. though thats not as fun as free kicks
