I have started a new Master League a couple of days ago and Messi performs surprisingly well even with these seemingly low abilities and his growth rate isnt bad at all.
Just because he made the most out of being steamrolled by Del Horno doesn't make him a cheat.

Roma is a very good and respectable club and the reason Totti is still a part of it is because he has been playing in Roma since he was a little one. He loves the club and simply knows the meaning of loyalty, which is something that is hard to find these days.
He has gotten plenty of offers but everyone knows that he will never play for another side so i suppose other clubs just don't bother anymore.
I respect him for that.

I don't want to start a lenghty and painful discussion in here about Ronaldinho but how dare you even imply that he isnt a great all-round midfielder? The answer to your question is yes. You can stick him anywhere in midfield and he will intercept passes and defend decently. I have watched every Barcelona game for many years and never missed a single match and i can assure you this man is a very well rounded player. Very few players can hold the ball under pressure like he does and that is a fact. He aint no Makele, that's for sure, but neither is your beloved Rooney. Ronaldinho could perform wonderfully anywhere in midfield but using him as a DMF would not only be silly it would be an utter waste.watty1877 said:

You also may remember the intro video for PES4 showing a blue shirted no.10 curling a loop shot into the top near corner from the edge of the box. That was an actual goal Totti scored for Roma in Serie A... couldn't believe it when I saw him pull it off. I've never liked him because he can be a dirty, diving, spitting cheat every now and then, but he is definitely very talented in all areas of play in midfield and upfront. Totti never had the same form with Italy as with Roma and IMO Italy certainly shouldn't have to depend on him to carry them.. there are more good, consistant players in the team.
Messi's stats are a bit low - he's definitely much better than the game suggests

Yeah you make valid points mate, and im not denying how good Ronaldinho is. I watch a lot of Barca games myself, obviously only the ones i can get to see. So im not just talking out of my hat. Yeah i agree its a waste to play him in certain areas, but sometimes in a game, its needed. The whole thing im trying to get across, is on current form... Rooney is a better alround player. Ok, next season it might change.
And im not a crazed fan of Rooney's at all, its just my view on the subject. Im not sure why people get so butt hurt when others state their opinions.

Messi is the man of the match in the game, and is the best attacking player to play on that lame pitch. He outshowned Robben and Joe Cole with his great control. He has the potential and environment to be a better player than Rooney in the future.
