Master League Qualms

So I've been playing the PC version of PES 2008... love it, not a whole lot better than 6 but I love the new graphics.

I played through master league a couple of times and I have some definitely problems with it:

1) The biggest problem has to be the fact that when I use my Master League team in Exhibition mode, the players revert to their default stats! (Instead of improved stats) I have a ML team that is 3 seasons old, and all my players are top notch, except they have shit stats when I play with friends on exhibition... is there any way to fix it? It's infuriating.

2) ML Default players suck... a little too much. I am a decent PES player, but when I tried playing ML on Professional level I only scored 6 goals in the first 20 matches before Negotiations. I had to settle with like 15 ties or so, 1 win, and like 4 losses. Half my goals came from corner kicks, and one from a penalty... it's just that the CPU's defense is hugely overpowered in Professional, and I can't establish any kind of run and have to rely heavily on passing to get anything done. I haven't even tried top player yet. Anyone agree with me here?

3) Classic players are cheap. Ok so this is a continuation of #2. Classic players are ridiculously cheap compared to their stats. After 20 weeks of ML on Professional with Default Players I garnered 15 ties, 4 losses, 1 win. But after the negotiation period, I got ridiculously good players like Kiuden, Enerzone and Hanue without depleting my points (I had ~16000). This is because all classic players do not have teams and so there's no transfer fee! All I did was give them a higher salary than they are worth (~1400/year) and they decided to go to my dirt cheap team.

So basically, after negotions my team improved greatly and I won maybe 60-70% of my games. To me, that kind of spoils the feeling of gradual progression, my team went from worst in the league to at least a D1 contender. Yeah I know that when I start a ML i can turn off classic players, but I can't turn them off now! I've already invested 2-3 hrs on this ML.

I'm playing on top player. My first half season ended with 6 ties, 8 losses and 5 wins (10-11th place, can't quite remember). Then I bought Bobadilla, Donovan and Larsson, and I ended up winning the league by 1 point :D

I finished the league with 2 players topping the assists chart (Castolo, Donovan), and 3 players topping the goals chart (Larsson (14), Castolo (11), Donovan (11)). That means I won all the bonuses, and ended the league with a bit over $30,000.

I think setting the game in Top Player makes it slightly easier if you have a good keeper. AI charges a lot, and leaves more spaces in the back. My team were the league's top scorers with 63 goals in total, but they also were the ones who received the most goals, totalling to nearly 35 (insane). I lost my fair share of games by a 4 goal margin or more, and then beat more difficult teams 5-0... quite a weird game this is.

Yeah, after the first season the game got a lot easier for me. The ML starters were just underpowered, and I couldn't score a goal with them. I ended up with 6 wins, 26 ties, 6 losses. Second season rolled around and I scored 50+ goals and got first in D2, so now I'm in D1 =)

Can anyone comment on the Exhibition mode for Master League players? Whenever I try and play with my master league team, the stats always revert to the player's original stats... is there any way around this?

There is. Goto save, "save my team data" and save the team, then you can load it.

This will save the teams as they are, rather than their base stats. Been like this for a few games now...

*This still works on the PS2 one, they may have taken it out of your version, apologies if so.
