The Snake story was very short.

The Raiden story was much longer and more enjoyable. Took a fair few hours for me to complete first time round.

Looking forward to MGS3. :) There's also a MGS game planned for release on the Gamecube. Talking of the Gamecube, I'll be getting one at christmas. Two MGS's in store for me then. :)

i have completed the MGS2S VR missions with 100% on xbox.but in my opinion ps2 version have the better controllment.

metal gear 2 was poo. i'm not buying MG three if they leave me stranded with a goon like before. playing with someone other than solid snake was a bad idea

the first mgs ruled, the story was perfect, characters excellent and the game was revolutionary. mgs2 the story was too over the top and government conspiracy running the country bullshit but was still an excellent title in terms of gameplay.

Well don't bother gettin mgs 3 cause you don't play as solid snake either, considering its set during the cold war and ss wasn't even born yet (Big Boss). If you want games that stay the same release after release play fifa, move on, Hideo Kojima has.

Sorry(S)Aint it just does my head in the way people moan about the best title to come out on the ps2. The problem was that Hideo Kojima was trying too please everyone, he didn't want to put to much emphasise on mgs1 for people who hadn't played it. Raiden was a bit of a mook but he was the newbie finding out about solid snake like all the newbies playing the game. With the new mgs Snake eater he hasn't done this, Kojima's gone back in time to the beginnings of the "snake", and Sheringham316 you play as Big Boss in the new game it's set during the 60's during the cold war I think! And if you don't know why Big Boss and Solid snake look similar play mgs 1.

I concur with eric. you people need to do some more research. How could it be Solid Snake?! If you watch the trailer closely you get all the hints that MGS3 is in Zanzibar Land, Big Boss's fortress in the original Metal Gear games (think they were on the commodore). Also, he has a missing eye in some of the cut-scenes, so does Big Boss in his pic in the MGS manual.

I know that its prob Big boss, but it could still be snake, what is he like over 50 on the game?

which means if its set in the 60's then it could be a young snake, really young mind :p

i belive it is big boss. due to the charicter having a cut over his eye, and big boss has an eye pacth

Does anyone know where the rest of the game is set?

I know u play for most of the game out of the jungle but i haven't seen any screen shots of any other locations.

It's definately big boss, you know he wants to peace the whole thing together. Thet moan before is pointless anyway because as Snakes a clone of big boss (spoiler if you ain't played the first one) then he's gonna play exactly the same anyway, except for his injuries* and what he eats to stay alive.

* have you heard that if you fall off a cliff or out of a tree you can break your leg and you just carry on playing till he dies of exhaustion or loss of blood.

As for a release date I've just heard it will be persponed till next christmas officially (unofficially they're gonna make it a first release on the playstation 3 early 2005.)

Have you seen the new footage where he's walking through the tunnels, he's got both eye's there. So people reckon its set over a number of years (like the cold war) and you get to find out how he lost his eye and why he turned to the "darkside"?( you know what I mean.)

I am obsessed with this game a bit .
