Negotiation Question From New FIFA Convert

Just bought the game, and I must say, 10x better than those old FIFA games I was playing.

My question, is that i started the master league using the default players. I have seen on this board all of the "elite" players that everyone buys and goes after for their ML team, but who did you guys "First" buy during that first negotiation session (mid-way through your first season).

Who was that first guy you bought for your team during the first half of the first season. Who is plausible to get. Keep in mind that I didn't use the 50,000 point unlocked cheat from the WE shop.

Thanks for the help, and i'm so glad i switched over to WE9.

Messi on the PC and Tavano on the Xbox.

Spent so much on Messi that I had to score quite a lot of goals to meet the acquired salaries at the end

Thanks. I guess i need to add it in, but I'm on the XBox. Didn't know if that mattered. Anyone else?

I think its personal choice, but in your first season you really do need someone that will deliver immediately. Also, because money is an issue right at the start, dont be frightened to lower the salary offered - the player might say yes.

Good point. I've actually read posts where people try to get rid of all the default player in the first year buy getting players who are not on club teams. Do you subscribe to that theory, or do you think it might be better to just pick up parts 1 at a time, like getting 1 great player now, 1 great player at the next window, etc.

Is it a good idea to try and get say 3 players during that first negotation window?

Thanks, the help has been great.

I think its all down to personal preference - I bought 3 or 4 average players, but they were all better than the default players so I did improve my team. I do like to just make sure I have 16 or so real players as soon as I can - then I start to buy stars as I gain promotion etc

like the other guy said, it's a question of choice n taste really.

if ur after a striker, why not try martins from inter? he's young but u may have to offer a little more than ur prepared to pay.

a good midfielder would be mascherano, i got him in my first season, and he's still with me at 36, 19 seasons later or so.

good goalkeeper is pele, but thats not one of my signings, just heard people going on about him.

hope that helps.

Euuhm, just to help you, take Buffon and Cech.

Cech will grow 99 in all the things a goalkeeper needs, ( at least in PES Management). And Buffon is a good keeper for first choice...:)

Hope its helpful;)

Since money is tight in the beginning, you might want to try to trade. I was able to get Mbesuma from Portsmouth, Wallace from Celtic, and N'Zogbia from Newcastle Utd. by trading and it really cut down on the costs. I eventually got rid of Mbesuma but Wallace and N'Zogbia develop into great players.
