I cant see there bieng a delay, and Hitmans conclusions make the most logical sense, also since WE10 is out earlier, i would have thought the same for PES6, but if you look at play.com and others its october, and im pretty sure nothing has changed, unless its the 360 version, or psp one with a slight delay.

The new name is rubbish, but as all things, you get used to it.
I really hope pes dosent follow fifa cause though the game is still the best football title available, the franchise has been stale, there is hardly any new changes each year, and without online play, pes5 would have been on the waste side by now. (For me ofcourse)

What time of year did PES come out when the last World Cup came along? (probably PES2) Or were they not coming out annually at that point? (I'm embarassingly a recent convert - PES4 being my first PES game - so don't have much knowledge of the old PES games).

PES2 came out mid October 2002 - 11 months after the release of PES1.

And yeah, they were coming out annually from this point onwards.

The initial press release (WEES2007 out in Januray 2007) was just referring to America but it failed to mention this which led us down the wrong alley at first. The only difference to normal is that when PES6 comes out, it will include this new XBox 360 version.

Here's where a few of us probably saw the release dates. This article on the very reliable american site www.ign.com has the american release date at the end of this article slated for January....

....although they do claim it's going to be called PES7, as PES isn't the american version of it then it is understandable they have that part (probably) wrong. On www.oxm.co.uk they have the British (presumably European) release date as October at the end of this article where they talked alot with Seabass....

....how this will fit in with the Japanese 360 version goodness only knows.
