One-two

Is it just me being poor or is the one-two pass a little difficult to do ?

:L1: and :x: followed by :triangle: just before teammate gets ball.

Use :circle: instead of :triangle: for a chipped return pass (after the :L1: + :x: ).

Or press X to pass and then press :R2: to make a run forward and then see how it goes and pass as you like.

yannh, you pansy. That skill is easy as pie. Did we deserve this thread ?
Probably not but it still ain't working.
I've tried
L1 + :x: then :triangle: with L1 held.
Same but with :triangle: held.
L1 + :x: then :circle: with L1 held.
Same but with :circle: held.

So apologies for the thread (as the instructions are in the manual).

I agree with you mate. One-two's are much less easy to pull off than in previous games.
I have PES2 for the PSone & in that you can score tons of goals with the "old 1-2".
Konami toned-down it's effectiveness because of this. When the return ball was made the striker would run onto it from miles away, outsprinting anyone else in sight.

I think they've gone too far the other way now though. Strikers like Henry should be out-pacing most of the other defenders, but rarely do now.

yeah i agree with you mate, one-two passes are quite difficult but once you pull it off you can rip defences apart

Thanks for the comments, now I really want to get it to work.

Can someone just confirm whether I need to keep :L1: and/or :triangle: held down.

Many thanks

u don't need to keep anything held down. first press :L1: and :x: at the same time. then as the player is receiving the ball, just press :triangle: and the direction u want to give the through pass. hope i explained it well

The way I do it is:

Hold :L1: and then pass with :x:
Let go of buttons but move direction to aim the return pass.
Press :triangle: or :circle: to return the ball to the initiator.

Thanks but...

Morale down ? You got it, having spent an hour in training trying to get the one-two to work I had a flash of inspiration.

Can those of you who use the one-two frequently please try the following:
Play as a fixed player.
Try and do the one-two.

I am wondering if my problems with this stem from it not being available in a fixed player game. I tried on manual cursor change and (unless I'm incredibly lucky) it seemed to work.

Thanks for all your help (and comments - cynical ones included).

In Player Settings, the cursor change speed settings are white lines or Manual. When you have manual showing press L1 (i think) again and it will change to Fix. Then press square to pick which player you want.

yeah, that`s what i did all the time in WE7 as it got so easy even on 5* it was more fun and challenging controlling only one guy and make the best of the times when you get the ball (it felt much more authentic to real football).
just thrashed real madrid 4-1 and 5-1 in cup semifinal on 6* in WE8. my goodness, this is just no fun anymore (challenge? pfff...). guess i start playing as fixed player again.

Bonk, are you able to do the one-two as a fixed player then ?
