to go online on your ps2 do you need a network disc if so were can i get one of these

As far as i can remember, if you have a slim ps2 u dont need one (or it comes when u buy the ps2! i dont no) If you have the fat PS2, then the network disc comes with the network adapter you have to buy.

No, you don't need a Network Access Disc on a slim PS2 to play games that don't require logging into Central Station. PES6 is one of these games.

PES6 also has a built-in network configuration utility so again, there is no need for the Network Access Disc in order to play PES6 online on a slim PS2.

However like I said, some games require logging into Central Station before playing online. I can't be specific as to which games require logging in to Central Station as I haven't tried playing any of these games online yet.

You will need to connect your Router to your slim PS2 with one of those Ethernet cables you've got. Your AOL box is virtually useless with a PS2.

but my router is aol an aol wireless router

Dont really know what your talking about but - U need to put an ethernet cable in the back of the PS2. Noithing wireless will work. U must have an ethernet cable going into the wireless box to supply the internet to it. U may have to use that cable!

You don't need the Network Access Disc to play certain games online. I was told by the people at Central Station that the games below can be played online without a Network Access Disc:

SOCOM: US Navy Seals;
Burnout;
Fifa Football 2006/07;
Pro Evolution Soccer 5/6.

These games have the Network Configuration Utility built-in to the game. You have to use the Network Configuration Utility in these games to create a Network Configuration File on your Memory Card.

The Network Configuration File is used to connect to the online servers so it's important that you have a Memory Card with enough free space on it.

In regards to having your PS2 registered, this is true. You need to go to ps2registration.com and enter your PS2s serial and model number. They'll send you an e-mail telling you that you're welcome pack is on it's way and the Network Access Disc should arrive about a week after you receive your welcome pack. Once you've submitted the serial and model number of your PS2, then you can start playing online.

But please bare in mind that at this stage, you can only play games online that don't require logging into Central Station. You will need the Network Access Disc when playing games online that do require logging into Central Station.
