Option file newbie please help

Hi there i have ordered pes and wanting to know if the option file update players faces and there stats or does it just do strips badges names and we need to edit the players ourselves?

If what you mean is Option File they're just fan-made. Even if they update the faces manually, it will be fan-made facebuilds, not preset face like Messi or Ronaldo.
If what you mean is official Konami Data Pack (not live updates), Usually they always bring new preset face in each Data Pack, but it still not yet come out.

For player stats, most OF makers usually not touch the stats of original IG players like say Cutrone or Asensio.
But based on last year, even the official Konami Data Pack and live updates will not touch the player stats AT ALL. So if by the start of the game Cutrone's overall is 67, by the end of the season no matter how good he is become throughout the year, he will stay 67:realmad: I don't know about this year, but I expect thing will stay like that.
So I guess the only thing you can do is edit them yourself.

I mean for a team that ain't in it like Celtic FC Master has made a file on YouTube with celtic and watching it it shows u the team with all correct numbers and looks. If i download the option file does it do all this or do i have to do all the looks myself?

You mean face for created players by the OF makers? It all depends on the OF makers. But for all their stats, age, stats etc it is most likely accurate and you don't have to edit them yourself, just simply import.

And when you have imported the files correctly in the game you dont have to edit anything of the kits yourself anymore
