Hi i was the guy who bought an x-port thinking it would get the patches. I took zyalski's help and got my ps2 chipped with a messiah 2 in queensway by some wizkid called trevor. He also only charged £60 and got me we-uk patch with the english league teams and the we-do it fe patch burnt on to cd. I started playing 3 days aso and was quite disappointed at first, the gameplay was weird especially the dribbling ( how do you get past defense???), the ball is tiny and the shooting is weird. I previously played pes2, maybe that's the reason. Has anyone else had this shock?

p.s. The presentation (kits, flags etc) is amazing but are there any other better patches around. Can i get a patch for pes. Soneone help please!!

Hi there.
It's good that it all worked out for you.

There are no patches for PES2 as it is on DVD.

I am in the process of putting together a list of all the patches I know and will post it when it's sorted.
If anyone would like to contribute to this list (name of patch, basic features and link for it) then go for it.

In the menus, using O for X takes a while to get used to, doesn't it?

The features for WE6:FE you noticed are correct. It is kind of a sequel to PES2 which is why it is different. The dribbling is harder but not impossible. It teaches you to dribble at the right times instead of hanging onto R1 all the time as you can in PES2. The ball is small and some patches have different designs, some of which are easier on the eyes.
The ball feels lighter and it all takes getting used to.

I reckon that WE7 and PES3 will be closer to WE6:FE in terms of playability.

thanks again, please state the best patch when you send it, i think you are right about the dribbling it's a shock but it's probably better for the good of we/pe for the future. pes2 was a bit easy. However i hope konami aren't gonna go all fiifa like, i noticed the players are bigger like in fifa. Also how on earth could konami fail to get the licenses to present the game with sponsors etc. Pes sells much more than fifa and is far superior, i feel very srongly about this i could even start a petition!

they shoul incoporate all the management features of champ manager into the master league, contracts, trainers etc the game would be awesome. I also read somewhere that one of the champ man team worked on pes2. presentation is important but these things would compensate. Think about it pe/we gameplay, fifa presentation and chanmp man depth.

PES/WE games are much better but there is no way they can compare with the sales of fifa.
Add to that the fact that fifa has been multi-format for a while so that gives them a further advantage.

I think that patches do more than the game makers would be willing or able to do, due to licencing problems. Plus we as fans of the games can contribute to the patches too.

Konami are bringing out their own new management simulation game so I don't think there will be too much of that aspect in the new PES/WE games.
