PES 2009 keeps crashing on me!!!

When i go into master league, and i play at least 1 game (maximum 2), it freezes on me, and after a while, i have to switch off my ps3.

After it froze on me like every 20 mins, i decided to deleted everything that said PES 2009 in the XMB of my PS3.

When i go into PES 2009, it tells me i have to download some update data for the game, which i did.

Then i downloaded the update pack from the system settings > downloads (i think), the one that you download for spanish teams updates.

When i was deleting all PES things from my PS3, i also deleted the system data, which i did not realise after i went into track records through gallery, and all the unlocked players were locked and all other data was reset, which was annoying.

I then downloading the VON option file V2.0 BETA and a system data file which has all the hidden players unlocked from these forums. I did what needs to be done to get that stuff into the game.

After all that, i went into master league again, and what happens... it freezes again!!!

Does anyone know why this may be happening to me.

The last resort for me would be to buy the game again, something i really don't want to waste my money on.

Please help me sort my problem out guys.

This may be a stupid question;

Are all of your other games working fine? If so, it'll be the disc, in which case you will probably need a replacement.

If other games are crashing too, the problem is more serious, and the laser on your PS3 is on its way out.

No, just PES 2009.

It only started to crash a few days ago, as i went on master league for the first time then as i was doing the spanish and english leagues first.

Only master league at the moment is crashing, and sometimes at the edit data menu of the game.
