pes 4 online hosting rpoblem...

hi.

just wondering if any one has a way round my problem . im linked up to the pc downstairs through a cat5 leed , the pc downstairs in the one with the modem. when i go to play online by hosting . the person whos clienting is waiting for ever to connect then finally says unable to connect . i try giving him my NET ip address but no luck . then give him my LAN ip address just to see if that works . but still no luck .just wondering if any of use know a way round this problem .
windows firewall is off my antivirus software's firewall has the port forward for pes 4 . so wont b nothing to do with my firewalls .tried typing in my ip address in the address bar . but doesnt find the page .

are you hooked directly into the other computer with the cat5 cable? if so it needs to be a crossover cable for it to work right.

yep directly connected to the other computer . wats a crossover cable ? and wats its advantages ?

it allows you to connect them correctly
a regular cable will NOT work directly connecting two pcs together as the wiring is not right

i crossover cable is wired to be able to do direct plugging in of pcs to each other

ok. but ive looked around every were for a cross over cable . and its the same one ive got . so probs that wont b my problem . if any one has any idea's i wouldnt mind knowing what to do cheers
