Possibly the most annoying thing in the world - im beating Boca 4-0 with Chelsea in the Konami Cup and I bring Joe Cole on for Geremi - click 'exit' on the subs screen and the ps2 crashes :mad: .... it just shows a black screen and thats it - ive lost all my cup :mad:

it happened again today when i was playing a tournament and it always seems to be when i make a substitution or if im pressing start - its never happened just when i was playing a game.

does anybody else get similar things happening?? and what can i do to solve this problem??

is it the ps2 with the problem? the pes2 disc? or my memory card??

any help would be appreciated - cheers..

try cleaning the disc, there could be a dirt or a scrach over the part of the disc where the codeing(sp) for the subs is

Mine crashed several times on the same weekend. After the 5th time I took out the CD and cleaned it. It hasn't happened since.

I experience this every so often. I think it just a fault in the game. It's happened to me when making substitutions, changing free kick takers (in game) and editing. My friend has the same problem. He told me about it crashing in edit mode for him. This hadn't ever happened to me in edit mode until a few days ago. This is an extremley annoying bug, which is particularly frustrating in edit mode! We think that as we both purchased it from GAME, we were sold games from a bad batch. I don't think this affects everyone.

Its strange that. My PES2 has never crashed even when it has scratches or smudges or anything. Try getting a cd cleaner. That is probably the case like Joerog said.

Hmm...my friend was having a similar problem when entering the replay load section. We tried cleaning the disc with a good cleaner but still experienced the same problem. With little hope left, we decided to go inside the PS2 and clean the lens similar to the DRE solutions. While there, we also used a can of compressed air to get rid of dust and such. Done. With minimal confidence, we loaded up the disc and went to the replay screen. Presto! It was working. It was most probably entirely coincidental (no other games had any problems that were apparent) but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. And besides, it gives your PS2 a good clean-out too.

Maybe with some divine intervention, your PES2 disc won't crash anymore. :)

Otherwise, you probably are stuck with a bad batch.

Ok cheers for the advice guys, i'll just try cleaning the disc up a bit. otherwise i spose i could open up the ps2 but i dont wana break it :\

where do you open it up?? i cant see any screws....

i thought i was the only person havin these crashes but now i know i aint alone.i dropped my playstation 2 couple of times so i thought dat was the case or maybe thats part of the problem.

Robinho, I don't think it's a good idea to open up the PS2 or it may cause a bigger problem. Try one of those CD lens cleaners with the little brushes on the disk. Or maybe try one of those spray cans of air to give a bit of an air blast to the vents of the PS2 to get rid of external dust.

My PES2 crashes at times too. I think it could have been due to me pressing pause too quickly during a match and it seems to have stopped when I wait for the animation sequence to finish. Happened a bit in edit mode too which wastes a bit of effort. Use the Force I guess.

Ive never had a PES2 crash, infact my saint of a PS2 has never crashed - i believe i may have just jinxed myself now.

Amazon, Game, Hmv, virgin.. any decent shop mate..

i cleaned the cd up nicely earlier and it seems to be fine for now.. but we'll see

I don't think you understood my question. I was just asking jamez where he purchased PES2 from because he hasn't experienced problems with his version of the game!

Mine seems to crash on the edit mode

when i was updating my option file it would constantly crash so i had to keep saving

well i was playin me bro n then he pulled the cobtroller too far back so then it fell off the shelf so now we've got the ps2 standing horizantally. its really annoying when it crashes cos usually it crashes when i get a freekick n i pause it 2 change the player so now i just leave it when i get a freekick cos i get scared that if i press pause it might crash again. lol
it usually crashes when im winning. :mad:
