PES2 Vs PES3

I think it will be interesting to discuss the differences between the games. Some people believe that PES2 is better but that could be due to the Game demo being so difficult.

I believe that PES3 is a far superior game. PES2 is too easy to do everything, which was why it was so criticised by PES and WE players. Too easy to score - there were a few sweet spot goals for sure. The good thing about PES3 is that it's a more realistic footy simulation. Nothing is guaranteed to work. Variation is needed and you need to adapt quickly. Level 5* on PES3 is more difficult than 5* on PES2.

Once people get the final version of PES3, there will be no going back to PES2.

From what I see on videos (more fluid gameplay) and what I hear (better passing, (more) licenses etc) I would have to say PES3 kicks PES2's ass. But I ve never played WE7 or PES3 (demo) so I'll have to wait for the 17th of october. But I presume that it will go exactly the same as with PES and PES2. So I'll say PES3 wins

If people truelly believe PES2 is a supirior game to PES3 even in Beta form then I suggest they book them selfs a place in the Frank Bruno Hall's of residence.

In PES2 defences dont exist and while on PES3 the shooting feels a little floaty to start with you get used to it and play football how it should be played.

Now I went through a long spell thinking PES2 was supirior to PES1 and argued its case for many months.....but PES2 made me a bad player because I wasnt playing football I was playing a monstrosity....with PES3 I can learn to play football again.

well, try playing PES3 and go back for a shot of pes2 2 weeks later, and you'll be wondering why real madrid are giving you 10 yards of room on the ball.......I can't emphasize enough how much better pes3

Yeh, I went back to see what PES2 was like and I was instantly bored.

For me, the last year has gone missing with PES2, Im just glad PES3 had reminded me why I actually started playing ISS in the first place...

I put on PES2 and tried to have a game. I was updating my option file. :) I tried to have a game but it just looked so poor! Everything was pacey and unrealistic. Thank you Konami for PES3!

Well, I've seldom touched PES2 since I purchased WE6FE so I guess that outlines my opinon of PES2. WE6FE has it's faults but even then I was playing a game quite superior to PES2. WE7 has just improved on the formula. Sure, it'll take a bit of getting used to at the beginning but most franchises have that acclimatization period where you get used to the changes of one game from another. It's all part of the evolution.

I have no doubt that the large majority of WE/PES gamers will much prefer the full version of PES3 to PES2.

If they don't, then they can go back to PES2. Good luck to them.

Pes2 was a bit disappointing, that has to be said. AI defence was horrible with centerbacks playing like a bunch of schoolkids....I was also let down by the cheap AI attacking play where strikers seemed to doing it all by themselves.....Pes was indeed a better game, positioning of players much better and thighter defenses.

So far I can say that I have never played a soccer-game with a really good AI attacking play and for me that`s something the developers needs to work on (haven`t played WE-games, I`m from Norway). Anyways, what can be said of the AI attacking play in Pes3? Do they build up attacks like in "real-life" ?

Excuse my english if it sucks :)

I have WE6:I which is PES2 , and I also own WE7. WE7 / PES3 is much more better than PES2, and it's not to blame on PES2, that's the way it supposed to be. New car is always better than the old one if you don't put certain things in it.. Jag87 is right, try playing PES2 after PES3 or WE7 you'll be blown away on how much KONAMI improved its series.

I have the PES3 demo, and although it is probably the crappest demo in history it still knocks the pants of PES2. Player animation is much better, commentary and crowd effects much better, better passing, I could go on.

Favourite quotes of Homer Simpson:

(Homer looking at the globe): Haha, look at this country, it's called U R Gay!

(Homer to an alien who's trying to eat him): Don't eat me, I have a wife and kids.......eat them!

You've forgotten, "Heh Heh Heh! Lisa! Vampires are make believe, just like elves and gremlins and eskimos!"

So is October 17th the UK release date? Sorry, for such an idiotic question, but it's so close!

PES2's graphics are poor compared to PES3 - and that is logical.

PES2's character models were cartoonie and their textures were primitive.

PES3's character models are almost photo realistic and the kit textures are too.

Infact id go as far to say its the best example of clothers texturing iv seen in a game.

i think pes3 graphics are more blurry and less smooth and the player models are not as good.

like when u take a goalkick have u seen the way the player stands!!!!!!!

Some of the opinions in the PES3 Impressions thread are sounding strange now. Wondering what difficulty level people are playing the game on. If you guys prefer PES2 with Extreme mode scores of 13-0 then good luck to you. Seems that PES3 is too difficult for some people.

Let's use this thread to discuss the problems and differences between the 2 games and allow other people such as newbies to share their opinions in the Impressions thread.

The strange thing is that some people prefer PES2 to PES3 but PES1 remains unmentioned.

Put it this way. A year ago I bought PES2. Despite the fact I found it much better than the previous series, two weeks later I was winning the ML in five stars.
I bought PES3 a week ago and after hours of play (I'm trying to unlock everything) still can't win three matches in a row playing the three stars level ML.
Need to say more?
For me PES3 ROCKS!
Finally, if you're with two or more mates, I recommend playing the ML in Libero Grande mode. We have created and bought our own players (featuring similar faces, bodies and skills) and now we're using them that way. IT'S AMAZING !!!
