PES6 - FANTASTIC or ANTI-CLIMAX?

Well each of us have our thoughts, and thats why we are here to portray them, so i will give you my thoughts...

I, like everyone else had been eagerly awaiting the new installment of the PES series (in all honestly, i think i was more excited for the release of PES5 only because i knew that there was not going to be any restrictions in PESFAN's Option File unlike this year where were not getting any Premiership Kits or Emblems)....anyway i have an XBOX360 and PS2...(i bought the 360 back in May for the arrival of PES6 and cos its the best console in the world) and so i got the game for both consoles......while one looks better(360) the other plays better(PS2) thats the god to honest truth. The 360 version looks so beautiful, it really is like watching the champions league on SKY, it looks that real, but it lags so far behind in terms of gameplay compared to the PS2 version....which after playing the 360 version doesnt look that good. My final decision this morning is to take my XBOX360 back to whence it came along with the copy of PES6....i'll lose a £100 from the original price but i dont care cos i wont be using it now. I will stick with the Ps2 version purely for its gameplay and addictive editing options...i mean from being able to edit someones kicking style to how they celebrate a goal...thats quality!

Lets face it theres going to be a bit of bitching in regards to the new adaptations of passing, shooting and tackling but didnt we have that when all the games in the series came out? It will take a while to get used to but we'll get there in the end. The PS2 version does however, seem more arcade-like, almost like an early ISS game...but all in all it does run quite smoothly when you get a few games in your belt!!

I still cant get my head round this replay business....i started a thread on this so have a look, but all the replays are very fuzzy looking unless, like me, your playing in wide camera angle....thats the only angle that looks clear on a replay!!

Finally, are we going to have an Option File with the Premiership Emblem and Kits? And for those teams that arent licensed like Besiktas, Fenerbache, Panathinaikos..etc....

Let us know if you have the same views.......

PES 6 is the best game in the series, there's no doubts for me... Yesterday i enjoyed as in the "old times".

The passing, shooting, control on the player (before receiving the ball), the tackles, the gameplay, the tactics, the pace... Absolutely brilliant... I was really expecting Konami doing that, amending their mistake with PES5 that was absolutely boring especially when playing against CPU (it changes when you face an human).

I can't wait to come back home (i'm in the office...) turn on my PS2 and keep on playing that fantastic game.

I'm happy.

Im glad that you have found happiness. I too am happy but i still feel a slight lack of the excitementthat you are feeling..which is down to the lack of premiership licensing.....and THOSE BLOODY FUZZY, GRAINY REPLAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAAAAAAAAA!! I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!

to be honest i think PES6 is a return to form, i've loved all of them up to PES4 but when the 5th installment came out i was more than a little bit dissapointed with it although that never stopped me playing it haha!

i think the games improved so much with PES6 the players are more responsive and the matches seem to flow although i have no idea what the crack is with the replays!!! and all that grainy fuzzyness also seem to be scoring a ton of headers! lol

I think the grainy effect on the replays is down to what Hz you play the game on. 60Hz tends to screw it up I think. Try 50Hz

You're right, the replays are so awful!!! And sponsored by Canon! What a clever marketing!

Apart from that and the veeeeeeery poor public, wich is a standar in all PES games, of course, and that awful and eternal flags among the public (what a mite too!) the rest is brilliant IMO.

Some faces have been really improved and looks great (Xavi looks great
and Messi as well).

I insist, i'm happy. ;).
