Play.com PS2 to USB Controller Converter Help

I've just received the PS2 to USB Controller Converter from play.com, but I can't get it to work.

I've inserted the disk and up comes a page with settings and directx 8.1. The directx applicaton I cannot download, as it says something about not being compatible, and needing an earler version of windows. After doing some research, I found out that directx 8.1 is apparently already installed on windows xp to begin with. But when I then run settings and click ok to install, it seems to install around about 80% then exits, and i'm meant to be getting a prompt to restart the computer, but never do.

It's now becoming very frustrating, as playing PES4 on a keyboard is terrible, so any help would be very appreciated. If anyone has the same product, any info on how you installed it (especially if you have windows xp) would be great.

i have it and have win xp, i havnt got pes4 on pc but was havin the same problem with another game, i just played around with the games config.(on some games you have to turn on the pad by the games config)

Thanks for trying to help mate, I think i've got it sorted now. I had to go to control panel, printers and other software, then in game controllers it should be there. :ninja:

I got the converter from play.com but it didn't come with a disk. Works fine though.
People who install the software found that it didn't work after that so you'll have to uninstall it. If you can't there is a link to a guide that shows how to uninstall it in the pc section.

Thanks Zyg, it works ok now. The instructions on the back of the box it came in were completely wrong, but it's installed fine now it seems. Just need to set out all the buttons correctly in the button configurations in option mode and it should be ok.
