I hate the fact that no matter how strong/ tough my players are, I just never seem to be able to win 50/50 challenges.

Another concern i have is the exaggerated level of attack the opposition team has immediately after you score a goal. 95% of the time you will not win the ball until they have had a shot at goal.

Other concerns such as players being slow on the ball have been raised in other threads. However, how does one control the keeper during freekicks? It just seems too easy for the opposition to score. A very slow chip over the wall into the net, unrealistic.

These little things are annoying to say the least. The game must live up to it's "simulation" claims and players must play according to their ratings.

I agree overall, the AI is just not good enough in pes 11. It cheats as hell because it can't beat you. It frustrates me to see it happening. BUT it has been in evey pes game. I remeber me playing pes 6 and the AI would do some awesome things with bad players too so it has always been in pes, maybe not exactly like in pes 11, but some sort of AI cheating has always been there and it was never in small amounts, the AI cheating was always a problem, however pes 11 shows the cheating more.

But on the whole, for pes 12, I say, make the AI play harder but at the same time diminish the cheating. That way it'll be less frustrating. However it can never be taken out as the AI will never outsmart a human no matter what so AI cheating is done to make it harder. But there are better ways to make it much less appearant. ;)

In the generation we are in now, it'll be difficult to get the AI up to a decent level. You talk about players playing to their ability..... but even average players can have a great game every now and then. Sure 9 times out of 10 Chelsea will beat Blackpool, but they might lose to them 1 time. Getting that balance right will really push PES to the next level.

I know what you mean about the moment just after you score a goal. This is always the best time for opposition to score. True, in real football they say you're at your most vunerable when you've just scored, but PES takes it to the extreme..... TO THE EXTREME!!!!!!! It's not just for AI teams either, it happens with 2 human controlled teams. But it's been like this in PES for as long as I can remember.

The slow chip over the wall is also daft. It doesn't help that the keeper does a bloody slo-mo Matrix dive when he tried to save it!

50/50 challenges are a nuisance too.

It took a 6 foot computer named Deep Blue to beat a grand master in chess. I think that makes a solid point. I would think the only other way (aside from scripting) an AI can beat a human player is to mark men so tight that could never pass the ball and constantly lose the ball on challenges. We would be screaming if that were the instance. You would never win. I remember my first PES experience with WE9. On three stars of difficulty I could not win a game in 30 tries - I almost quit for good. So the only option for the CPU AI to be tough but not completely relentless is to pulse through periods of extremely tough play and relax at other times. An experience that we would call scripting.

In all honesty these things have been happening since pes 6. The AI in pes5 WAS very tough to beat and the cheating was minimal. I still think pes5 is the best in the series in terms of gameplay and realism. No, im not asking for an exact representation of real football as that's impossible. I am, however, asking that they make the game more real beacause let's face it, it's not that they can't, pes5 WAS more real, challenging and fun. So we're not asking for the impossible here. A little fix-up of the little glitches here and there (of pes5) and the gameplay will be great

Even though people talk about PES 5 like it was God's gift... there was still a LOT of AI cheating in it. Believe me, I bloody noticed it, so much that it has brought me close to tears. For example, I was losing and in the last minute I passed the ball to Cavenaghi (who was awesome) as he waited by the 6 yard box, all he needed to do was get a touch...... but instead the fucker lets the ball through his legs. It was one of those games where I was never going to score no matter how hard I tried.

Lmafao!!! Hope u didnt throw your console against the wall! Anyway, i get wat u mean, and yes such things have been happening in all pes games. My point is that with pes 5 it wasnt as much as with other games. It happened so minimally that you even recall a time it happned quite clearly. It hasnt even been a year since we've had pes 2011 (in South Africa) yet the number of times that such kinda crap has hapend is countless. Like i said, im not asking for an exact representaion of real football. Just more realism. Fact is if u compare pes 5 to 2011 you'll see that it has worsened dramatically. We dont want perfection. We just want reasonable realism. And ofcourse such little irritating things WILL happen but it shudnt be a norm

Haha..... I remember that moment because it was the most frustrating of all moments. There were lots of other moments. Interstingly, in the first month or so of playing PES 2011, I thought that they had cut the cheating down.... but then I started to notice it more and more. To be honest, I think all PES games have been as bad as each other with regards to AI cheating.

I know we'll never get an exact representation, but it can improve. I mean, look at other games that involve AI. If you get shot in an FPS, do you blame it on AI scripting? No. Yes, the gameplay mechanics are completely different, but there needs to be more steps to ensure that PES isn't obvious that it's cheating.

I think Sergio Busquets is a more subtle cheat than PES!! :D

Pes 5 hid the AI cheating the best, that's why it's up there with the best pes' ever made. However the AI cheating was still there. But still AT LEAST, THE AI WAS HARD TO BEAT and not only by cheating, but by trying to outsmart you unlike from pes 6 onwards.

When performing a slide tackle, hold super cancel as it allows for more precision and for some reason the ref is less likely to blow for a foul. Since learning to defend with super cancel I concede very few goals against AI and human players.

I would be satisfied if 80 was 80 (plus/minus form arrow) for me and the AI alike.
How much Balance do you need in BAL to avoid being punched around the pitch, falling face first in the dirt? At 90 Balance you still get assfucked in duels with Bojan... I'm just saying...
