Problem with air play....

Playing online a lot, most goals i concede are due to opponent's players taking the header inside my penalty area.

I use 3cbs and almost every time my opponent atacks from the wings, one, two or even three of his players, find themselves unmarked insinde my pernalty area...

The defenders that are close, seem to move towards my goalkeeper, insteed of marking the opponent's players...

As a result,i loose most of my airial battles,......when there is a battle...
because as i said, most of the times, the opponents are just unmarked...

And something more....Could you please give me some advice on how to make my long kicks more precise?
When i'm attacking form the wings and i want to aim one of my players,i i rarely achieve a decent long kick...

Thanks a lot...

When I send balls from my wings to my striker I use to double tap Circle, and have pretty chances on heading to goal.

Try not to bring your centre halves out wide. I presume you are playing with 2 wide midfielders. Try and get them to cover more and let your centre halves watch the centre. Also bring your DMF across if need be.

Indefence you defintely need at least 4 defenders and at least 1 DMF protecting them. Using R2 and super-cancel should help you either block crosses or get to them first when they come into the middle.

And choosing a team with tall defenders helps too. Such as AC Milan, Inter, Man United, Liverpool.

i can't really play with 4 at the back...because most of the time i end up having only my two cbs when the opponent "counter attacks"..
And i can't really find a way to tell my rb and lb "don't come forward"...
No matter what i do,they always join the attack...

In addition two this, with 4 at the back,i have a serious problem with through passes...Playing with 4 is so vulnerable....

Now let's get on...
R2...hm...i'm trying to find its use,but it seems that i don't underestand something correctly...It is supposed to "position" the player, right?

As for "super cancel"....It is so damn difficult to use it properly...

Mate i used to have that trouble with lb's and rb's all the time.

All you have to do is go on 'individual' and put their attacking arrows going back towards their goal. That should solve it, although they could come up for corners at times.

believe it or not, that doesn't help too much...

They seem to have a ...physical tendency...
thanks anyway mate...

Try moving all 4 defenders back so they were 2 clicks away from their own goal line. Giving them all High defence should make them stay back more often.

Hey law_order, is your problem actually heading the ball away when the ball's crossed in or actually getting anywhere near the attackers? I had problems actually winning headers versus the attackers but think i'm sorted now...

It is difficult to defende against people who keep putting through passes down the wings. One idea to counter this could be to play very ddep full backs with side mids just infront of them so that the side mid tries to intercept or block the pass if he can and if not then there's 2 of them plus possible a DMF to try and get the ball off the winger.

My formation 3-5-2 is very effective defending. I have 2 DMFs in front of the defence, when the oppo goes down the wings, i have three very good tall centre backs left in the box and also my DMFs come back and do a damn good job. My SMFs track back very well and usually if have to pick between them chasing or my DMF i choose my SMF so my DMF can help out centre of the field if the ball goes there. This is only on 6* against com not online so sorry if this isn't that helpful

both mate...
but the most serious problem,is that most of the times my opponent's attackers are totally free...

As soon as your opponent obtains the ball hold L2 and press R2 a few times. This will make your players more defense minded at that current point in time.

The problem with that is that from what I've read about the team attack attitude, putting it more defensive won't make them hussle for the ball, which a high attack attitude will do. It's a conundrum ;)
