Ps2 WE8 slowdown?

Im a US fan and I loved WE 6 and WE 7.

I have heard that there is slowdown in WE 8, and I was just wondering if its true, and if so, is it a big deal?

I use the wide camera angle and I heard it caused this.

I could buy it for X-box, but i prefer the ps2 controller for WE since the shoulder buttons are used so often.

Im waiting to find out about the slowdown before i buy the game and im going nuts because I want it so bad.

actually, it is not really slow down, it's the problem of playing the games on wrong system machines, PAL games on NTSC system PS2 , or NTSC games on PAL system PS2. So, it is not the problem of the game, it is the problem of the machine.

They fixed the slowdown for the xbox and pc versions.
Maybe it won't be there in the US version?

Well it looks like I will just have to chance it.

If the slowdown is bad, i will just trade it in for the X-box version.

I just tested it. And yes there is slowdown. But I suspect that it also depends on the stadium you play in. I don't know the name of the stadium I experienced the slowdowns, but it has grill protections around the soccer field. The grill is possibly separating the crowd and the players.

no worries

the slowdowns dont affect gameplay at all, they only occur during goal kicks and sometimes corner kicks. But c'mon, compared to the total grandness of the game, the slowndowns are insignificant.

I tell you what mate, get the xbox version, and get the ps2 to xbox pad converter. This way you got no slowdown, and still using the ps2 pad ;)

Just an update on my situation.

I caved in and bought the X-Box version. I also bought a generic controller made by Pelican because it has the black and white buttons on the shoulders as well as at the bottom where they usually are.

I am really happy with my choice so far. I adjusted to the controller pretty easily and im already playing at 4 stars and pulling off all the moves i used to do on the ps2 pad for WE 7 and 6.

So if anyone is worried about the X-box controllers, or the ps2 slowdown, just get the pelican controller and go with the X-box version.

I cant wait until someone puts out an X-Box option file with all the Uniforms and updated rosters.

Pelican controller? Is that like a converter or some kind of xbox pad? I'll check if i can find it online. I'm seriously having problems using the default xbox pad because of the directional buttons. I dont use the analog stick. Is the pelican's directional buttons as smooth as ps2's?

EDIT: I think THIS is what we should get, too bad i don't have it where i live

Its just a generic controller brand. I bought mine at wal -mart for $14 dollars.

The D-pad feels fine to me, very similar to the standard X-Box controller.

Heres a link to Wal-mart.com for the controller.

there is deniflty a slow down. Running a CD copy from the original DVD, i experienced that it had a slow down, even more with WIDE camera.
Nw running with a DVDR, the game runs smoother with LONG camera. I've noticed a tremendus change of smoothness when running the DVD instead of the CD.

I rented PS2 and XBOX version of the game. XBOX no slowdown. So I bought it.

Although I feel the shoting near the box is too fast. I have been playing PES4 for long now, so is it a being used-to issue? or does XBOX version has unrealisticly faster shoting?
