PS3 - Launch Date and price announced !

I'll definetely get the 60GB version as it would probably be a better deal and also more powerful. Although your best bet is to buy it around January/February as the sales will be going crazy for it as you can imagine. So with any remote luck, we will see it reduced from about £425 to around £399 in the space of 2 months. Seems a bit reasonable if you ask me.

Also the reason it will be cheaper in the USA is because of the XBox360. Everyone knows Microsoft are huge in USA since it was founded over there, the 360 also had great sales over there but awful sales in Japan. Doesn't take a genius to work out why this is happening. So its probably a smart move by Sony, stealing their customers back I suppose.

^^No; the reason it is cheaper in america is because consoles always are, and we get ripped off.

It has nothing to do with the 360 mate.

We were ripped off with the ps2, psx, xbox, 360.....the american price always translates to at most £50 off.

i dont see what all the fuss is about, the xbox 360 much better on price value and overall although i havent actually seen the playstation 3 properly

well sony have the psp which connects to the ps3 someting that the xbox doesn't i saw on ign that phil harrison was playing formula one on ps3 and he was using a psp as a wing mirror in real time streaming at the exact same time as the ps3

yeah thats true with the psp link up, that looks amazin and looks to make future appearances in other games, i heard the psp could be used to control otacons robot in mgs4. and in that F1 game on ps2 and psp, online psp users can play with ps2 users aswell. just shows u what the psp is capable of. PS3 will be £425 apparently but sony said its not set in stone. thats why gamestation stopped its pre orders. everything always cost more in UK cos we get tax. thats it. deal with it.

OK I have a few questions. PS2 online is completley free, but I heard someone talking about how you have to pay for Xbox Live. Is that true? Also what about Xbox 360, do you pay for that per month? But this leads onto my main question that is does anyone know if the PS3 online scene will cost money.


P.S I know that no one will have used the PS3 online, but maybe someone has heard something.

Oh fucking great news. This bastard of a console is going to cost the upmost of possibly £400. Now I know at first this PS3 is going to cost a leg and a half, so I may wait for a while, but seeming as though I hate the xbox controls its the only possible way for me to get hold of it.
