haha microsofts plan of world domination.............
i dont know why when over 30% of xboxs have been returned, including my which is still there waiting for repair, ive no hope of playing PES at my house till mid november at this rate.
yeah apparently like %30 of the consoles have had problems where as usually 5% is considered high. and there customer service pish you about.when i rung sony to whine about my psp's dpad then sent a courier with a new one and just traded, microsft will prolly give me a new console but not until they have arsed around pretending to fix mine.

My networks ... :ninja:

Wouldn't surprise me tho. The X-box is still around the same price it was when it was released where as the PS3 has had it's price slashed over and over again.

Sorry mate but bullshit appears to be pouring from your mouth. Could you please detail the number of price cuts the PS3 has taken and then those for the Xbox 360? I fear that you'll find them to be relatively extremely similar.

Price drops are usualy a result of bad sales ...

Of course, the highly paid marketing executives at Sony decide to release a product with their pricing plan clearly labelled: 'meh, see how it goes.' They don't plan price discriminatory sales plan.

both consoles pricing scheme is considered to be "creaming and skimming" its a stratergy where upon release they sell at a high price for those with alot of money who can afford it,they sell it to the cream if you like 1st,then they will saturate that and skim a little off for the next buyers and so on.its a frequently used marketing stratergy.i did business back in the day ;)

PS3 had it's price slashed over and over? Must be an island-only offer as they only lowered it once here ;) Then they released that cheaper version.

Compare sales figures and im willing to bet that X-box is out selling the PS3 by as much as 10 - 1 as I said before.

Sale figures of 360 and PS3 this year are practically identical. There has literally only a few thousand more 360's sold. "Experts" predict that the gap will be slightly larger come end of the year, but that was said before the PS3 price-drop and 40GB version was released/announced.

On a serious note
September wasn't a very good month for Sony, especially its PS3. NPD figures show that the system came in dead last, selling 119,400 units. This is less than the PS2 (215,000), the Wii (501,000) and the Xbox 360 (527,800). Granted, Xbox 360's sales were boosted quite significantly due to the launch of the blockbuster Halo 3, with sales of the game reaching a staggering 3.3 million in its first month. Heavenly Sword, in comparison, only sold 139,000 units its first month.

SCEA responds: "According to NPD data, September 2007 was a strong month for the PlayStation brand, which showed a 13% increase in total retail dollars generated year-over-year in the US with total sales of $337 million for the month."

Sony will have to look towards the future and hope its recent price cut announcement will keep it afloat. "PS3 continues to maintain an overall increase in sales, with 119K units sold at retail for the month. Also, with the new $399 40GB PlayStation 3 SKU hitting store shelves on November 2nd, a new $499 price point for the 80GB model effective immediately, and highly anticipated titles available this holiday, such as Racthet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the PS3 is poised for very strong performance through the holiday season and into 2008."

I know more people over here (Spain) that have a PS3, I think with Britain wanting to be very much like America it's normal for the Xbox to out sell Sony over there. Sony will always have the Asia market in their pocket so I don't think they're too worried.

With Pro out this month its going to be a console buyer and I can see more people who still haven't gone next gen going for Pro on the PS3. Especially now with the price drop.

You got a link for the sales figures? I'd like to have me a looks, see if my source was as incorrect as your saying he is.

Sadly no. There was a brief explanation similar to mine on C4 teletext a few weeks back, but that page changes everyday, and there was some actual figures on gametrailers.com, but the search function on there is fucked so I've no way of finding it :/

Latino, sorry, but you're full of shit.

Most people in the UK hate America, so saying we want to be like them is a lie. The sales of the PS3 will stay strong because there are a hell of a lot of fan boys about.

Fuck im too cool for skool

They may hate them but many people in Britain are greatly influenced by things that are made in America.

I saw a thread on gametrailers that backs up this 10 to 1 claim! I hovered over it and saw the website which the guy used as a source, I think it was, www.lettucemakeupshitgamingfax.org/delaystation3isgehy.

Trooper, just so you know, I'm not dissing you, nah mean rude boi? :innocent: It's just that these thing only ever seem to be reported on websites that know fuckers heard of.
