Do you know the definition of preference?

Chrisius ... If I was to ask you if you prefer Pepsi or Coke, but you had never tasted Pepsi and said you prefered Coke, then how can you be sure you prefer Coke?

Not the best example, but anyone with an ounce of sense should follow this simple concept.

I just don't understand why people keep slating 360 and praising something that's not even on the market - surely you can agree with this no?

I reckon I could get 20+ goals in 45 minute halfs, sometimes I almost smash double figures in 5 minute halfs (10 minute matches), winning 7-1 or sumtin.

You let one in? Haha :p

People who own and prefer a PS2 to xbox can say they will most likely prefer PS3 to 360. yes? yes.

Like 'a cut above the rest' as in superior, I've had both a ps2 and an xbox so i feel i can make the judgement and say the xbox is better.

SKy Sports Sponsoring

I think that konami should sign Sky Sports to officially sponsor the game, then we would get far better commentary from Andy Gray and Martin Tyler and little things such as the sky sports logo in the top corner and the short abbreviations for teams such as Liverpool `LPOOL`much more realistic.Because this is essentially how most of us actually watch football.

Nope ... that's called a "fanboy" and that statement alone is the dumbest thing I've read today. Of course you can prefer a PS2 to XBOX, becuase you can make a comparison. Chrisius .... you sure you're not a Sony fanyboy?

The Xbox has always been more powerful than the PS2 - no one's doubting that.

But in my opinion, the PS2 has had the better set of games over the past few years (when compared to the Xbox). The inclusion of the PS2 DVD player was also an incredibly shrewd move by Sony. You might not want to admit it but one of the reasons as to why people switched over to the DVD format from the VHS tape was due to the PS2's DVD player. :)

If I remember correctly, the Xbox needed an optional add-on in order to play DVDs. Waste of money in my opinion. Microsoft should've provided it as part of the original console's drive in the first place. And what's worse is they're going down exactly the same road with the 360 and the HD-DVD drive. And it's not cheap either - it's going to cost around £150-£200. A very expensive add-on if you ask me.

And in regards to the 360 being a cut above the PS3, think again. Both consoles are technologically the same. I personally think that the inclusion of the Blu-Ray drive in the PS3 pushes it ahead of the 360 (if you're looking at it from the 'value for money' point of view).

But it'll all come down to personal taste in the end. ;)

I'm not sure about PS2 having the better set of games over the past couple of years. I'm not gonna start jotting down loads & loads of titles and comparing, but I am pretty sure if you ask anyone who's owned both consoles, then the response will be the Xbox had the better range of games overall (especially over the last year). I have both the PS2 & XBOX and my XBOX collection is vast compared to my PS2 collection, mainly because there has been a better selection to choose from. Come to think of it the only game I bought last year for PS2 was God's of War, and that was OK - a bit overated.

You're right about the HD-DVD add-on though. I suppose MS's idea was to launch a console at a decent price. It is good though that you have an option whther to HD-DVD, but in reallity any true gadget freak would have opted for a built-in HD-DVD. I have a 360, but won't even look at the add-on until I see the dedicated sales of HD DVD titles.

I also have the PS3 on pre-order since May and will be paying the extortionate (spelling?) price of £500 with a few naff games, which will find themselve on Ebay the next day.

Also to be honest, in the run-up to let's say Jan 07, only the Xbox 360 can really boast to having any multiple top grade titles. In terms of PS3, I'm only looking forward to MGS4 and Assassin's Creed. The rest just seem to be updated better looking re-runs (ie. GT5 & Tekken 6).

See, it's all about preference isn't it and obviously you preferred the xbox as you failed to see the wide range library of games the PS2 had and what is known for towards its success. Whether you prefer the 360 to PS3 is up to you dude.

If you go back 4-5 years and then compare the sets of games available on both consoles (including games sold on the Xbox and the PS2 in the past 2 years), then overall; the PS2 wins.

Obviously, the PS2 hasn't had that many good games released in recent years but generally, it has had the better set of titles over the past 5 years. ;)

Yeah I pretty much figured that one out. But like you said, any true gadget freak would want the HD-DVD drive built into the 360. After all, I'm a gadget freak myself. But I also have a budget to stick to so I have to think hard about that.

£500! :shocking: I wouldn't pay that much if I were you. Well, unless you've got money to burn that is.

But I do agree that the release titles for the PS3 aren't going to be anything to shout about.

Sigh.... no point with this one anymore - do you realise that I mentioned I have both the PS2 "AND" XBOX?? So I made the compariosn and picked the preference of the XBOX! - now lets start again Chrisius and try and keep up if you 're still having trouble grasping this simplest concept ...

I have a 360 ... (tick that pls chrisius as you go along) .... I don't as yet have a PS3 for obvious reason ... (again another tick there chrisius) ... so to sum up, I can't say which I'd prefer having not tried one ... you with me now?

PS2 v XBOX = Pref can be made
PS3 v 360 = No Pref due to PS3 not out to compare

Chrisius, surely the above simple explanation clears this up? if not then I can no longer help you - you have obviously decided that you ar Sony fanboy until you die, rather than choose to appreciate gaming as a whole.

We'll than I misunderstood you're statement. You mentioned "the PS2 has had the better set of games over the past few years", so I asumed that's what you meant, had you said the PS2 has had the better set of games over it's entire history period", then yes you're right ... but over the last few, then no, XBOX trumps PS2 in terms of quality gaming output.

Also £500 may seem like a lot, but what you have to remember is that the high-end conslole will retail at around £430 - £450 mark with no games, so for £500 with 3 games, I think is prettygood becuase like I say I intended to flog these on Ebay as soon as possible, which I should get say around £90 back for ... so no £500 isn't bad overall - and like you I'm a hardcore techno-phobe and will buy everything the day it comes out regardless of price - heck I know for a fact when I get the PS3, it will be just another toy for me to admire becuase I won't be playing shit until mid Sping 2007when Assasin's Creed comes out!

Anyway always great to talk to a fellow gadget freak - you got yours booked yet Ko_nami?

No. Doesn't sound good. I really prefer playing with Paolo Maldini ("Hahahaa.. Now I've got Maldini and no one can beat me")with his real face than with Alessandro Cosa Nostra with bald and glasses.

I like this idea - once a player retires, that should be it. Also I like the simulated matches in FIFA World Cup 2006. What the engine does, it simulates games before you play your fixture, so while you play it throws in updates on your screen for the games it simulated.

eg: you're in the Uefa Champ Lge, and it you need the team above you to lose, then whilst you're playing it will tell you the score of the fixtures and update the league standings ... that was a great touch in FIFA WC 06.
