I always told people not to perform any tricks on their PS2. In my honest opinion, I find those tricks very harmful to my console so I`d rather pay the money and get the best out of it. Yes, some of those methods do work but only temporary. If you want to play imported games for a long long time to come then you need to install a modchip into your PS2 console or to buy the brand new PS2 console (already pre-modified) If you buy a modchip and install it yourself you`ll save ALOT of money but again not many people know how to properly install them. Now that xmas is around the corner you can always add pre-modified console on your wish list. If you`re living in the United States and want to buy the best premodified PS2 system with the best (DMS3 v2.0 modchip) with a good reasonable price then go to
http://www.modchipman.com - Right now they sell PS2 (Pre-modified) with DMS3 v2.0 modchip & online pack for only $289.99 I got my PS2 premodified with DMS3 v2.0 from them and it`s working perfectly fine. Maybe that`s why I never had any stutter bug when playing WE7. Here`s what DMS3 v2.0 offers you:
DMS 3 (Devolution Memory System 3) is probably the most complete and advanced mod chip for the Playstation 2. It really has all the features all other chips have all together, but it is also a top quality chip, with bullet proof stability and reliability. And it simply works on all existing Playstation 2 consoles, if you own a PS2, the DMS 3 is compatible with your system. Please click on the review link to access the chip official web site with full information about the product.
1) Direct boot of PS2 originals/imports/backups (all media, including DVD-9 and multi-disc titles).
2) Direct boot of PSX originals/imports/backups (anti-mod and multi-disc titles supported).
3) Macrovision disable.
4) DVD region free.
5) PSX import screen position fix.
6) Boot any PS2 executable directly from memory card. (DivX, Mp3, Logo etc.)
7) Loader code contained in flash and upgradeable via software by the PS2 to support future feature enhancements. 2 copies of loader code stored in flash. Copy 1 is not upgradeable. On bootup, the hardware will determine whether copy 2 is valid and if not, fallback to copy 1 (protects against reflashing failures).
8) All console versions supported.
Now that`s worth the money..
